Here is a photo I took outside of my balcony in Costa Rica. This squirrel monkey is munching on ice-cream beans. Ice cream beans taste like vanilla ice cream (no kidding)
As you can see in the second photo they pop out of the pods and are covered in the fluffy white stuff that you suck off the hard bean seed within. ( which you throw out to grow into another ice cream bean tree ) They are fun to eat, amazingly delicious and refreshing if you discover the trees out in the jungle while walking! They are so yummy and definitely one of my favourite wild tree snacks in Costa Rica. Let me know if you have eaten them too!
Squirrel monkeys have great lives I reckon. They play endlessly in the treetops, eat delicious fruit, nuts and ICE CREAM beans and make the cutest, most beautiful babies!
