An entry for the #wednesdaywalk challenge hosted by @tattoodjay.
Today's walk was another "dead end" exploration. The site began at a municipal well and led to another vista of the local Black River. Years ago, this area bordered a huge Standard Oil site; I remember as a kid a gigantic refinery tank that used to sit just north of this place.
Sure, there is a guard rail there...but who cares if that sort of thing is in the way? The adventure continued!
On to the river. I noticed another homeless camp to the right of the picture above, so not wanting to disturb the folks and their living spaces, I pressed on to the left to get some photos of the late November afternoon river. Beautiful, as always...
I took a quick picture of my long November shadow too, high above the beach below...
Before noticing the following inscription on some stone blocks. Let's hope that isn't the case for whoever wrote that!
I then headed back to the Camry in order to get back to work. Accountancy waits for no one, no matter what the #wednesdaywalk requires.
As soon I managed to make my way back to work, I must admit I reflected on how lucky I was to be able to squeeze a walk like that in. Not even the cold northern wind could deter today's adventure. One must take advantage when possible...life is too short.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing my walk with me. Until next Wednesday...
