My #wednesdaywalk share, as inspired by tattoodjay@tattoodjay

What can you do on Wednesday, when you are running low on sleep and there are thunderstorms at the time that you typically get a walk in? That's what happened to me this morning; I usually try to get a walk or hike in early, but with very little sleep this week and lightning in the area, I slept in. I hated to miss out on an early hike, but sometimes the body can't make it work. Especially when you get old like me!

Still, I had a plan, and despite being dressed in steel toe boots and jeans, 95F temperatures, I got my walk in...granted, a very sweaty walk in.

Trees and asphalt...that's about the extent of this one. Why did I choose this one? Well, it's steep and I wanted to get the heart rate up. This stretch certainly managed that.

Finally, I summited the hill - what a sweat!

Not much of a view, sure, but the heart rate was up and I felt like I accomplished something for the first time today...albeit it was only a 20 minute walk up the hill. Better than accounting, I tell you...

Those are Red Wing steel toes, by the way...not the best for a hike up a hill, but whatever. That extra little weight helped burned a few more calories. And back down the hill I went..

All in, I managed a roughly 400 foot ascend. Whoohoo, I've earned a beer! Or two? Maybe..

Thanks for checking out my #wednesdaywalk post. I hope everyone else was able to get out today and enjoy the great outdoors...until next week!
