Today I went back to having my favorite dish, mi sop. I opted to have it made with Indomie noodles instead of the usual yellow noodles or standard flour noodles, as that was an option on the menu.
I enjoyed this misop with my child in the front yard of my office; there are plenty of food stalls available there, open from late afternoon into the night. We went on a weekend evening—since I wasn't working—to enjoy the misop together.
We sat relaxing on orange plastic chairs and we took a photo together. It seems like today is me and my son because it happens that today my husband is still working, he doesn't have a day off like me.
And it seems I was wrong, I was trying to pick up the color of the chair, but apparently the one I sat on was the red one. Hehehe, while the orange chair hadn't been sat yet, the ones in front of us were still lined up.Shortly after, I ordered Mie Sop made with Indomie, while my child and the person accompanying us opted for the version with regular yellow noodles. As for drinks...
For drinks, I ordered cold tea while my son ordered cold Milo and a few minutes later it arrived and we could enjoy it.I didn't have to wait long for the noodles to arrive—perhaps because there weren't many customers yet. The noodle soup looked a bit pale before I seasoned it, so I added soy sauce and chili to bring out the delicious flavor.
After mixing the ingredients, the red color really popped; I used a bit of sauce, a spoonful of chili, and sweet soy sauce. Without that specific blend, it just wouldn't taste right—it would be like something was missing. Since I’m a fan of spicy food, I absolutely love this spicy version of misop.
I started to sip the noodle soup, the soup was really spicy and savory mixed together while the Indomie noodles were like this in general and also here there were meatballs, but it seems like they weren't big meatballs, they were just small ones, but this also made the miso soup even more delicious.
The bakso (meatballs) have a slightly springy texture—though there’s likely more flour than meat in them. Still, I think the quality is appropriate for the very low price. Honestly, though, it’s not the meatballs I love most here; it’s the broth. The beef mie sop (noodle soup) really hits the spot for me.
After finishing a bowl of this Indomie-style Mie Sop, we also ordered two Risol Muntai—honestly, it was my child who ordered them, as they really love dim sum... er, I mean Risol Muntai, which are filled with egg, mayonnaise, and a little bit of sauce.
The piping-hot risol gave off such a delicious aroma that I really wanted to enjoy it, even though I had already eaten mi sop. Yet, seeing that hot risol made me crave it even more.
After tasting it, this risol is no less delicious, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with a slightly spicy and savory taste, it's really delicious.
Thank you 🙂🤗
