Why does it feel like thinking has become such a nuisance or a crime? People talk about dopamine addiction, it's nothing new, and every person talking about it makes it feel like we're beating a dead horse, but what do people actually do about it when they're made aware? Pretty much nothing, they'll maybe try a "dopamine detox" or something, then when that becomes too boring or untrendy they move on. This is not very different from the constant stimulation they already partake in, but do those people ever realize that, and the irony of it?

The constant stimulation does not allow for your brain to think, you get no time to think about yourself, others, and how you may affect others. The longer you push these thoughts away the more uncomfortable they become; the more uncomfortable they become the less you want to think about it, so the cycle continues. Everyone wants to believe they're a good person, no one wants to be associated (or publicly associated) with a bad person either. In the modern world we have a lot of opinions and beliefs with the current consensus that they are moral, if you're a person that avoids thinking for themselves because it has become too uncomfortable, but at the same time you would like to believe you're a good person, how hard would it be to adopt such beliefs, and are those beliefs really your own if adopted?

Now the way of thinking I see going around is; if my beliefs are moral, and the majority of people that also consider themselves moral, agree that this is moral; then any opinion that tries to challenge mine is deemed immoral. And just like that, you have now been grouped into the bad people category, with all your opinions invalidated, for the crime of having an original thought. Or even worse, you were having a considerate thought, considering the already established "bad people" group as human beings, that may have a point when it comes to certain things.

Maybe it has been this way for centuries, or maybe it has gotten far worse. With how easily information travels, public opinions along with public scrutiny and the newly introduced artificial intelligence that takes away the possibility of ever having to use your own brain. We have now become more divided, we have stopped cooperating, instead we fight each other, we try to be right all the time, we dispose of each other over the smallest things, and people have now become more lonely. And the realest of us suffer.

A good friend will tell you the truth, a good person will seek to understand the different, but the good friend is treated as an adversary. The truth hurts, they don't tell you because they want to hurt you, maybe they don't point out your flaws because they think they're better than you, maybe they don't have these opinions about you because they don't respect you. But maybe it's because they see the potential in you, they see the real you past your opinions, maybe they're patient enough with you and hope that one day you will see your flaws and try to fix them; because they are also flawed, they will continue to have flaws, there is no finish line or one opinion fixes all, just constant self evaluation that takes thought, deep thoughts.
