Just finished doing our first rock and gem show as vendors in Carlsbad NM.
We got to a slow start setting up so I didn't have time to take a lot of pics (which is highly unusual for me).
We purchased three 8' table spots and had more than enough inventory to fill them. I tried to make sure we had a decent variety of specimens so we could see what drew attention as well as what sells.
One thing I was certain would garner interest and sell was "Cave of Swords Selenite"
I even accented them with a couple Amethyst cathedrals. These are high end selenites and did draw quite a bit of attention but no buyers
Other things that sell at our store I thought would sell well at the show were Moqui Marbles and stone eggs including Selenite eggs.
Not one sold.
We had Pyrites, Galenas, and Bismuth
Only a few of these sold. Also seen here are Aragonites, Hemimorphites, Apophylites and Desert Roses; none of which sold.
To my surprise; what did sell were cut slabs, Moroccan geodes, and Fluorite wands.
These were what made the show worth while.
The show was small, but had quite a bit of attendance. It just seemed like people didn't want to spend any major money.
