A different rainbow in Cuba! [EN-ES]

Did you know that in central Cuba there's a rainbow that everyone can enter any day?

Yes. This recreational center is a rainbow that has endured through the ups and downs of the country's economy and social processes. Created in the second half of the last century, well away from the city noise, its goal was always to offer culinary and recreational alternatives for families. Its heyday was in the 1980s, but fortunately, it still offers a variety of services for the enjoyment of adults and children, despite prices that are often unaffordable for the average professional on the island.

Even though we sometimes daydream, there's still the option to think positively and focus on doing something different that brings well-being and the opportunity to laugh, always laugh. So, I was fortunate enough to be invited by @lizandra and two of her children to search for that opportunity to believe we're children who can discover the essence of a rainbow with all its colors ready to play like we haven't done in a long time.

The Santa Clara Rainbow is on the outskirts of the residential area. To get there, we decided to walk a good stretch of road and then took a horse-drawn cart, which, incidentally, broke down along the way. From then on, we started joking around, saying among ourselves that the car had gotten a flat tire when one of the tires on its wheels came off.

As soon as we arrive, we are greeted by that monumental entrance from which we can already breathe the pure air offered by a dense forest characteristic of the place.

Not all establishments were open that day, but we still decided to have fun with whatever services were available.

First of all, the children mounted their horses and felt, for a moment, like pure prairie gallopers.

The most abundant options are specifically for young children. Still, we didn't let that put us off and decided to play whatever we wanted, and we really had fun.

Lía was the best at shooting basketballs into her basket and even beat me in a game of bottle caps on a kind of galactic table where you have to try to score goals with that bottle cap and prevent others from scoring on you.

While we decided to go and let our hair down with the crazy carts, while we waited for the line to get in, I was able to tour various areas to show you the beauty of each of their sites.

For a moment it rained, and I even thought a rainbow would actually appear in the sky, but no. We had to settle for the mere name of the amusement park and give it our all on the crazy rides. Here we really got our hair out of hand. @lizandra demonstrated how to repeatedly crash into the limits of the site without any cars nearby, and I even got hit on the knee a few times during one of the collisions with the other cars, but we had fun, we had fun!

When it was time to leave, @lizandra started playing hide-and-seek, talking to the trees, and we even discovered a family of fantastic mushrooms that bid us farewell in all their splendor and good vibes.

Many years ago, I remember there were many restaurants with different offerings here. Those deals don't exist anymore. But whatever, if it's fun, come and ride the crazy carts and feel like kids chasing rainbows!

¿Sabían que en en centro de Cuba existe un arcoíris al que todos podemos ingresar cualquier día?

Sí. Este, un centro recreativo, es un arcoíris que ha permanecido en el tiempo a pesar de los altibajos de la economía y los procesos sociales del país. Creado en la segunda mitad del siglo pasado, bien alejado de los ruidos citadinos, siempre tuvo el objetivo de ofrecer alternativas culinarias y de dispersión para las familias. Su época de esplendor fue en la década del 1980, pero afortunadamente, aún permanece ofreciendo servicios diversos para el disfrute de grandes y chicos más allá de los precios regularmente inaccesibles para el profesional medio de la isla.

Comoquiera que uno a veces sueña despierto, queda la opción de pensar en positivo y centrarnos en hacer algo diferente que aporte bienestar y la posibilidad de reír, siempre reír. Así, tuve la fortuna de ser invitado, por @lizandra y dos de sus hijos, a la búsqueda de esa oportunidad de creernos niños que logran descubrir la esencia de un arcoíris con todos sus colores dispuestos para jugar como hacía tiempo no lo hacíamos.

El Arcoíris de Santa Clara queda en la periferia de la zona residencial. Para llegar, decidimos caminar un buen tramo del camino y luego montamos un coche de tracción animal que, por cierto, se rompió en el camino y ya desde ahí comenzamos a tomar todo a broma, diciendo entre nosotros que se había ponchado el coche al salírsele una de las gomas que cubren sus ruedas.

Apenas llegamos, nos recibe esa entrada monumental desde la cual ya se respira el aire puro que ofrece un bosque bien tupido característico del lugar.

Este día no estaban abiertos todos los establecimientos, pero aún así decidimos divertirnos con los servicios que existiesen.

Primero que nada, los niños se montaron en sendos caballos y se sintieron, por un momento, puros galopantes de la pradera.

Las opciones que más abundan son específicamente para niños pequeños. Aún así, no nos dejamos amilanar y nos dispusimos a jugar lo que fuese y de veras nos divertimos.

Lía fue la mejor tirando pelotas de baloncesto a su canasta e incluso me ganó una partida de chapas en una especie de mesa galáctica donde uno debe intentar anotar goles con esa chapa e impedir que le anoten.

Mientras decidimos ir a despeinarnos con los carritos locos, en lo que esperábamos transcurriera la fila para entrar, pude dar un recorrido por diversas áreas para mostrarles a ustedes lo hermoso de cada uno de sus sitios.

Por un momento llovió y hasta pensé que saldría el arcoíris en el cielo de veras, pero no. Tuvimos que conformarnos con el mero nombre del parque de diversiones y darlo todo en los carritos locos. Aquí sí nos despeinamos a lo grande, @lizandra dio muestras de cómo chocar una y otra vez con los límites del sitio sin auto alguno cerca y hasta me llevé algún que otro golpe en la rodilla durante uno de los choques con los demás autos, pero de que nos divertimos, ¡nos divertimos!

Ya a la hora de irnos, @lizandra se puso a jugar a los escondidos dialogando con los árboles y hasta descubrimos una familia de hongos fantásticos que nos despedían con todo su esplendor y buena vibra.

Hace muchos años, recuerdo que existían muchos restaurantes con disímiles ofertas acá. Ahora no existen esas ofertas. Pero da igual, si se trata de diversión, ¡lléguense y móntense en los carritos locos para sentirse niños que conquistan arcoíris!
