Title: The Power of Hebb's Law: What Habits Are You Automating Today?
Hello, Holos Lotus community. Today I want to share a reflection that completely blew my mind about how our brain works and how we shape our daily reality.
I was listening to Javier Botia, a world champion of mentalism, talk about Hebb's Law. Simply put, this law states that if you repeat an action many times, your brain ends up automating it. It's the reason you don't have to think to drive a car or tie your shoes anymore; you just do it on "autopilot."
This is fascinating for building discipline. If you want to be consistent, you just have to take advantage of this law: repeat the positive action until your brain integrates it. The first few times will take a lot of effort, but as the days go by, it will become natural.
However, here is the dark side of neuroplasticity: every time you leave something for tomorrow, you are also using Hebb's Law. Yes, just as you read it. When you procrastinate, you are training your brain not to move forward, to stay in its comfort zone.
In the end, the brain is like a muscle (or rather, a garden) that responds to what we plant. You decide what kind of training to give it.
What healthy habit would you like to automate this month? I'd love to read your thoughts in the comments!
