La Navidad cada vez está más cerca, y no solo se siente en casa y en los centros comerciales, sino que incluso los colegios ya preparan los motores para ambientarlo todo, y recibirla con todas las de Ley.
Y en el colegio donde estudian mis hijos tienen la tradición de armar el árbol de Navidad y decorarlo con tarjetas navideñas hechas por cada familia, y hoy les comparto la idea que se nos ocurrió para este año. Una tarjeta en forma de campana, con un lindo mensaje dentro.
Generalmente, para esta actividad hemos hecho la típica tarjeta, rectangular o cuadrada, pero este año quise hacer algo diferente, y si bien las anteriores iban con decoración navideña, quería que esta en sí misma fuese un "adorno" de Navidad, por lo que escogí la tradicional campana, hecha de manera que pudiese abrirse, para escribir dentro un mensaje especial de parte de nuestra familia.
Así que con eso en mente busqué mis materiales de trabajo, solo para darme cuenta que no tenía suficiente de ninguna de las cartulinas que quería usar, pero con un poco de creatividad e imaginación bastaba, así que decidí organizarme con lo que tenía y ya les cuento qué utilicé para ello.

PROCEDIMIENTO
Lo primero como siempre es recolectar todo lo necesario para no tener que parar cada instante a buscar algo, ya que eso retrasa el trabajo, así que con todo a la mano, en una hoja de reciclaje hice un molde para la campana, y lo recorté doble, es decir, doblé la hoja, tracé la campana y luego recorté.
Como pueden ver la dejé recta en la parte superior porque necesitaba se abriera para leer el mensaje. Luego esto quedaría completamente oculto con el lazo, para que nuestra tarjeta se viese tal cual una campana.
Seguidamente, transferí la figura de la campana a la cartulina rosada, que era la que tenía de mayor tamaño, así que fue la indicada para la base de la tarjeta.
Lo siguiente fue recortar por la línea marcada y ya estaría lista la base.
Para el siguiente paso necesitaba cubrir el rosado con colores propios de la Navidad, pero no tenía cartulinas suficientemente grandes para cubrirla toda de un mismo color, por lo que trabajando con lo que tenía, recorté una mitad en plateado metalizado y la otra mitad en rojo.
Seguidamente, con ayuda de un pincel, esparcí la pega por la superficie de cada cartulina y la pegué a la base rosada, teniendo de esta forma cubierta la cartulina rosa, y nuestra campana ya casi lista.
Para continuar, recorté dos tiras de cartulina metalizada en color rojo, lo que tenía doble función: la principal era cubrir un doblez o marca que tenía la cartulina plateada (sí, así de perfeccionista), y por supuesto darle un toque decorativo a la campana.
Además de las franjas rojas, realicé tres hojas de Navidad en capas, para lo que hice dos piezas: una en cartulina metalizada verde, la cual pegué con ayuda del adhesivo doble faz, sobre otra en cartulina verde para darle volumen y vistosidad a la tarjeta.
Paso seguido, vienen las típicas bolitas rojas, las cuales hicimos con papel de seda rojo. Y ya con todo listo procedimos a fijar las piezas.
Para pegar las hojas, decidí utilizar el adhesivo doble faz, lo que le daría volumen, y para las demás cosas usamos la pega blanca. Y para dar un toque especial hicimos la bolita de la campana en dorado.
Lo siguiente fue hacer un lazo con cinta navideña y pegarlo con silicón caliente en la parte superior, y como ven, no solo ocultó la forma recta que tenía la tarjeta, sino otro doblez de la cartulina.
El último paso fue pegar en la parte de atrás de la tarjeta, una pequeña cinta para que pudiesen colgarla en el árbol de navidad.
Y finalmente el mensaje navideño, y ya con esto estaba lista la tarjeta de este año para el cole, que por lo menos en su salón, fue la única diferente, ya que todas las demás fueron hechas de la forma tradicional, así que misión cumplida.
Miranda fue feliz al colegio, no solo por su tarjeta, sino porque se acercan dos fechas que espera con ansias todo el año; el 24 de diciembre y el 26 que es su cumple. Y sí... doble regalo con apenas dos días de diferencia, así que por supuesto en esta casa, diciembre es un mes especial, que se extiende hasta el día de reyes con el cumple de mi hijo mayor.

Usually, for this activity we have made the typical card, rectangular or square, but this year I wanted to do something different, and although the previous ones were with Christmas decorations, I wanted this one itself to be a Christmas "ornament ", so I chose the traditional bell, made in a way that it could be opened, to write inside a special message from our family.
So with that in mind I looked for my working materials, only to realize that I didn't have enough of any of the cardstock I wanted to use, but a little creativity and imagination was enough, so I decided to organize myself with what I had and I'll tell you what I used for it.

PROCEDURE
The first thing as always is to collect everything necessary to avoid having to stop every moment to look for something, as that delays the work, so with everything at hand, I made a mold for the bell on a recycling sheet, and I cut it double, that is, I folded the sheet, traced the bell and then cut it out.
As you can see I left it straight at the top because it needed to open to read the message. Then this would be completely hidden with the ribbon, so that our card would look just like a bell.
Next, I transferred the bell shape to the pink card stock, which was the one I had the largest size, so it was the right one for the card base.
The next step was to cut along the marked line and the base was ready.
For the next step I needed to cover the pink with Christmas colors, but I didn't have large enough cardstock to cover it all in the same color, so working with what I had, I cut out one half in metallic silver and the other half in red.
Then, with the help of a paintbrush, I spread the glue on the surface of each cardboard and glued it to the pink base, thus covering the pink cardboard, and our bell was almost ready.
To continue, I cut out two strips of red metallic cardboard, which had a double function: the main one was to cover a fold or mark that the silver cardboard had (yes, perfectionist like that), and of course to give a decorative touch to the bell.
In addition to the red stripes, I made three Christmas leaves in layers, for which I made two pieces: one in green metallic cardboard, which I glued with the help of the double-sided adhesive, over another in green cardboard to give volume and showiness to the card.
Next come the typical red balls, which we made with red tissue paper. And with everything ready, we proceeded to fix the pieces.
For the leaves, I decided to use the double-sided adhesive, which would give volume, and for the other things we used the white glue.
The next thing was to make a bow with Christmas ribbon and glue it with hot silicone on top, and as you can see, it not only hid the straight shape of the card, but another fold of the cardboard.
The next thing was to glue a small ribbon on the back of the card so they could hang it on the Christmas tree.
And finally the Christmas message, and with this was ready this year's card for the school, which at least in her classroom, was the only one different, since all the others were made in the traditional way, so mission accomplished.
Miranda went to school happy, not only because of her card, but because there are two dates coming up that she looks forward to all year; December 24 and December 26 which is her birthday. And yes... double gifts just two days apart, so of course in this house, December is a special month, which extends until Christmas Day with my oldest son's birthday.
