School vacations and Christmas are some of my children's favorite dates because they are synonymous with special outings and activities, sharing with loved ones and living beautiful experiences.
Vacaciones escolares y navidad son de las fechas favoritas de mis hijos porque son sinónimo de salidas y actividades especiales, de compartir con gente querida y vivir lindas experiencias.
I have already told you a little about the activities we usually do at home during vacation time with my children and in fact I gave you a preview recently and even though my husband is not on vacation yet and the kids are in some activities (school reinforcement and ballet) we have been able to get out of the routine and have an excellent week.
And for Matias for example, the reinforcement has been an excellent option and in fact he sees it as part of his vacation because there are many children with whom he can share and even though they are classes he is very happy to attend.
His favorite day is Thursday because they give them time to share on the court, so of course he is happy and doesn't complain at all, on the contrary, he leaves the house very happy.
Miranda is on vacation from the orchestra but still has her ballet classes which she attends two afternoons a week and for her I would go every day!
A few weeks ago she was given the tutu for gala presentations and she was so excited that when she got home she wanted to try it on and even looked for a headdress she has from when she was in the previous ballet school. She looked so beautiful! I can't believe how much my little girl has grown.
Ya les le he comentado un poco sobre las actividades que generalmente hacemos en casa en época de vacaciones con mis niños y de hecho les dí un avance hace poco y a pesar que aún mi esposo no está de vacaciones y los niños niños están en algunas actividades (refuerzo escolar y ballet) hemos podido salir de la rutina y tener una semana excelente.
Y es que para Matías por ejemplo el refuerzo ha resultado una excelente opción y de hecho lo ve como parte de sus vacaciones pues hay muchísimos niños con los que puede compartir y aunque son clases está muy contento de asistir.
Su día favorito es el jueves porque les dan un tiempo para compartir en la cancha, así que por supuesto está feliz y realmente no se queja para nada, todo lo contrario, sale de casa súper contento.
Miranda por su parte aunque está de vacaciones en la orquesta pero aún cuenta con sus clases de ballet a las que asiste dos tardes a la semana y por ella iría todos los días!
Hace unas semanas le entregaron el tutú para presentaciones de gala y la emoción fue tanta que al llegar a casa se lo quiso probar e incluso buscó un tocado que tiene de cuando estuvo en la escuela de ballet anterior. Se veía tan hermosa! No puedo creer cuánto ha crecido mi niña.
Besides those activities that we could call academic at home we also had the opportunity to take some ideas from our vacation plan and put them into practice at home like the cookies I showed you in my last post in this community and an afternoon of painting.
But the activity this week that both they and I really enjoyed was an outing with my best friend Celina and her son Gabriel to the movies to see Thor, Love and Thunder.
There is something I usually do with outings away from home and that is not to tell them under any circumstances that we are going out because it generates a crazy anxiety to the point that they drive me crazy too asking insistently the day and time and even countdown they are counting down.
So the same day and very close to the departure time is that I inform them what we will do but this time talking to Celina on the phone they were hovering around me (as always haha) and found out, so from Monday the torture began.
Luckily on Tuesday we met with Celina in La Asuncion and we decided to change the departure for Wednesday and shortened the torture by one day haha, so on Wednesday we went to the cinema to see the movie.
Además de esas actividades que pudiésemos llamar académicas en casa estuvimos también tuvimos la oportunidad de tomar algunas ideas de nuestro plan vacacional y ponerlas en práctica en casa como las galletas que les mostré en mi último post en ésta comunidad y una tarde de pintura.
Pero la actividad de ésta semana que tanto ellos como yo disfrutamos muchísimo fue una salida con mi mejor amiga Celina y su hijo Gabriel al cine a ver Thor, Amor y Trueno.
Hay algo que suelo hacer con las salidas fuera de casa y es no decirles bajo ninguna circunstancia que saldremos porque les genera una ansiedad loca al punto que me enloquecen a mi también preguntando de manera insistente el día y la hora y hasta cuenta regresiva llevan.
Así que el mismo día y muy cerca de la hora de salida es que les informo lo que haremos pero en ésta oportunidad conversando con Celina por teléfono ellos estaban revoloteando alrededor de mi (como siempre jaja) y se enteraron, así que desde el lunes comenzó la tortura.
Por suerte el día martes nos reunimos con Celina en La Asunción y decidimos cambiar la salida para el miércoles y acortamos un día la tortura jaja, así que el miércoles nos fuimos al cine a ver la peli.
They were of course excited because we had yet to see this movie so they were euphoric. I won't deny that I was too because Chris Hemsworth is one of my favorite actors. I love him haha.
This outing was very special for us since Celina is about to leave the country and we are trying to spend more time together before the trip. So apart from having fun we are trying to take advantage of the time to be together.
About the movie I can tell you that for Celi and me it was a total disappointment, I understand that in every movie there must be some touch of comedy but for me it borders on exaggeration especially taking into account the line followed in the previous ones, but anyway, I could accept that this one would be like that and enjoy it.
The kids of course, fascinated, for them it was great hahaha. They loved every single detail and that's enough for at least a week remembering it every fifteen minutes and coming to me with their "mommy, do you remember when... hahaha.
Ellos por supuesto estaban emocionados pues teníamos pendiente ver esta película así que estaban eufóricos. No les negaré que yo igual porque Chris Hemsworth es de mis actores favoritos. Lo amo jaja.
Ésta salida de por sí era muy especial para nosotros ya que Celina está próxima a irse del país y estamos tratando de compartir más tiempo juntos antes del viaje. Así que aparte de divertirnos estamos tratando de aprovechar el tiempo para estar juntas.
Sobre la película les puedo decir que para Celi y para mí fue una total decepción, yo entiendo que en toda película debe haber algún toque de comedia pero para mí raya en la exageración sobre todo tomando en cuenta la línea seguida en las anteriores, pero en fin, pude aceptar que esta sería así y disfrutarla.
Los niños por supuesto, fascinados, para ellos fue buenísima jajaja. Les gustó cada detalle y eso da como para una semana como mínimo recordandola cada quince minutos y venir a mi con su "¿mami, te acuerdas cuando...? jajaja.
When we left the cinema we took advantage of the fact that we were in the mall to take some pictures that we will treasure very fondly. We were looking at stores and talking a lot while the kids were playing.
Luckily they get along very well, so on that side it's wonderful, they are used to these outings since they were little and they enjoy them a lot. In fact both sides, moms and kids so they are very rewarding outings.
One thing that made me very happy that day is to see how Sambil has been gradually recovering its movement, so there were quite a lot of people both in the stores and in the aisles. The truth is nice to see life again in the shopping malls of the island and although the movie theater was almost empty the mall was not.
After walking around for a while and doing some shopping for Celina's trip, we took some time to have something to eat which we all enjoyed and talk some more hahaha (we never have enough time).
Al salir del cine aprovechamos que estábamos en el centro comercial para tomar algunas fotos que atesoraremos con mucho cariño. Estuvimos viendo tiendas y hablando muchísimo mientras los niños jugaban.
Por suerte ellos se llevan muy bien, así que por ése lado es maravilloso, están acostumbrados a estas salidas desde pequeños y las disfrutan mucho. De hecho ambas partes, mamás y niños así que son salidas muy gratificantes.
Una cosa que me alegró mucho ése día es poder ver cómo Sambil poco ha poco ha ido recuperando su movimiento, por lo que había bastante gente tanto en las tiendas como en sus pasillos. La verdad es lindo volver a ver vida en los centros comerciales de la isla y aunque la sala de cine estaba casi vacía el centro comercial no lo estaba.
Después de caminar un buen rato y realizar algunas compras para el viaje de Celina, nos tomamos un tiempo para comer algo que todos disfrutamos y conversar un poco más jajaja (nunca nos alcanza el tiempo).
These types of outings are one of my favorites because we try to make them not only activities for the kids but also for us. In fact, Celina and I always take time to go out just the two of us, without the kids, because we really need to let go of some stress.
As moms it is very easy to forget that our life is also important and that as long as we are well that will have an impact on our children, so taking care of every aspect of our life is of vital importance and that includes of course, our social life.
For me, this new opportunity to share together was full of nostalgia because Celina is a great friend, a very special person for me and knowing that once again I have to say goodbye to someone I love and who has been part of my life for so many years definitely saddens me, but I know that despite the distance our friendship will remain intact.
There have been many shared experiences between the two of us and our children. Many beautiful moments to thank and treasure, so I am sure that this trip will count as one of the best of our 2022 holiday season for all that it implies.
Este tipo de salidas son de mis favoritas porque tratamos que no sean sólo actividades para los niños sino también para nosotras. De hecho Celina y yo siempre nos tomamos un tiempo para salir sólo las dos, sin los niños y es que también nos hace muchísima falta poder soltar un poco el estrés.
Como mamás es muy fácil olvidar que también nuestra vida es importante y que en la medida que estemos bien eso va a repercutir en nuestros niños, por lo que atender cada aspecto de nuestra vida es de vital importancia y en eso está incluida por supuesto, nuestra vida social.
Para mí, ésta nueva oportunidad de compartir juntas estuvo cargada de mucha nostalgia porque Celina es una gran amiga, una persona súper especial para mí y saber que una vez más debo despedirme de alguien a quien quiero y ha sido parte de mi vida por tantos años definitivamente me entristece, pero sé que a pesar de la distancia nuestra amistad seguirá intacta.
Han sido muchas las vivencias compartidas entre las dos y nuestros niños. Muchos momentos lindos que agradecer y atesorar, por lo que estoy segura que esta salida contará como una de las mejores de nuestra temporada vacacional 2022 por todo lo que ella implica.

Yesterday for example we started a game of Monopoly which we finished this morning (I won, because I did!) And for the children as well as for us these are unique moments. Laughing together at every occurrence during the game, listening to the children's complaints about debts and watching them borrowing or extending payments is priceless.
I can honestly say that I wouldn't trade them for anything, they grow up so fast and life today is so fast paced that I am determined to live with them every new opportunity.
A year ago out of exhaustion I would say no, but I'm trying to eliminate that word when it comes to things to do with them, so if they want to play, that's what we do. Those kinds of moments are the ones that they're really going to treasure forever. And most importantly, it's going to help them lay the foundation for their own home in the future.
I become more and more convinced with each passing day of the importance of living life without missing a single moment. Let's take advantage of every moment with the people we love, every new dawn comes loaded with new opportunities, so let's take advantage of every second, whether at home or away.

Aún quedan muchos días por delante de éstas vacaciones y para nosotros en casa no existen actividades pequeñas, porque incluso las que hacemos en nuestro hogar muchas veces nos llenan más que cualquier otra.
Ayer por ejemplo iniciamos un juego de Monopoly que terminamos hoy en la mañana (gane yo, porque cierto!) Y tanto para los niños como para nosotros son momentos únicos. Reír juntos de cada ocurrencia durante el juego, escuchar los reclamos de los niños por las deudas y verlos pedir prestado o prrorrogas de pago no tiene precio.
Puedo decir con total sinceridad que no los cambiaría por nada, ellos crecen tan rápido y la vida hoy día tiene un ritmo tan acelerado que estoy determinada a vivir con ellos cada nueva oportunidad.
Un año atrás por el cansancio decía que no, pero estoy tratando de eliminar esa palabra cuando se trata de cosas por hacer con ellos, así que si quieren jugar, eso hacemos. Ese tipo de momentos son los que ellos verdaderamente van a atesorar para siempre. Y lo más importante es que los van a ayudar para sentar las bases de su propio hogar en un futuro.
Yo cada día que pasa me convenzo más y más de la importancia de vivir la vida sin perder ni un sólo instante. Aprovechemos cada momento con la gente que amamos, cada nuevo amanecer viene cargado de nuevas oportunidades, así que aprovechemos cada segundo, ya sea en casa o fuera de ella.
