Siempre me ha gustado que las cosas que hago para mi hogar no solo sean decorativas sino que dentro de lo posible sean funcionales, y hace poco en casa con las decoraciones navide帽as reacomod茅 algunos muebles, dejando un espacio completamente vac铆o, y es justo el que ves apenas abres la puerta de casa, y es a lo que yo llamaba mini recibidor, donde ten铆a una peque帽a biblioteca y un banquito que de hecho ya hab铆a decorado por la navidad.
En fin, este espacio qued贸 solo con el banquito que hace un tiempo restaur茅 y no hab铆a nada m谩s y me pareci贸 genial utilizar una especie de marco que ten铆a en casa para ocupar ese lugar y al mismo tiempo darle funcionalidad creando un perchero para las llaves, alg煤n bolso, sombrilla, etc, y hoy comparto con ustedes el proceso.
I have always liked the things I do for my home to be not only decorative but also functional as far as possible, and recently, when putting up the Christmas decorations, I rearranged some of the furniture, leaving a completely empty space, which is the first thing you see when you open the front door. I used to call it my mini entryway, where I had a small bookcase and a stool that I had already decorated for Christmas.
Anyway, this space was left with only the stool that I restored a while ago and nothing else, and I thought it would be great to use a kind of frame I had at home to fill that space and at the same time make it functional by creating a coat rack for keys, bags, umbrellas, etc., and today I'm sharing the process with you.
Para esta transformaci贸n utilic茅 un marco vertical de madera que en el fondo le pegamos hace a帽os una base de madera, y generalmente estaba pintado del mismo color de la pared, lo que creaba un efecto bastante genial, ya que parec铆a que solo era el marco, pero ahora que lo cambiar铆a de lugar quer铆a darle un toque diferente y aportarle funcionalidad, as铆 que les cuento a detalle lo que hice para darle un aspecto diferente y les muestro el resultado.
For this transformation, I used a vertical wooden frame that we had attached a wooden base to years ago, and it was usually painted the same color as the wall, which created a pretty cool effect, as it looked like it was just the frame, but now that I was moving it, I wanted to give it a different touch and make it more functional, so I'll tell you in detail what I did to give it a different look and show you the result.

Lo primero que hice fue cambiar el color de la madera de fondo, de gris a menta, y para eso en primer lugar le d铆 dos capas de blanco al fondo, de manera que cuando aplicara el menta no se viera afectada la tonalidad.
The first thing I did was change the color of the background wood from gray to mint green. To do this, I first applied two coats of white to the background so that when I applied the mint green, the tone would not be affected.
Una vez la capa de blanco estuvo seca apliqu茅 el color menta, dos capas en total para que se apreciara bien el color.
Once the white coat was dry, I applied the mint color, two coats in total so that the color would show up well.
En este punto me toc贸 decidir qu茅 dise帽o quer铆a darle de fondo para crear una especie de tapiz, y se me ocurri贸 pinos blancos, asi que en un trozo de acr铆lico y con ayuda de un cortador hice tres pinitos de diferentes tama帽os, creando as铆 mi estencil.
At this point, I had to decide what design I wanted to use as a background to create a kind of tapestry, and I came up with white pine trees, so I used a piece of acrylic and a cutter to make three pine trees of different sizes, thus creating my stencil.
El siguiente paso fue hacer el dise帽o con ayuda del estencil de pinos, una esponja y pintura blanca. Para esto solo debemos colocar el estencil sobre la superficie, humedecer un poco la esponja en pintura blanca "descargar" (presionar la esponja sobre una superficie para retirar el exceso de pintura), y presionar suavemente sobre el dise帽o de nuestro estencil.
The next step was to create the design using the pine tree stencil, a sponge, and white paint. To do this, we simply placed the stencil on the surface, dampened the sponge slightly with white paint, "dabbed" it (pressing the sponge onto a surface to remove excess paint), and gently pressed it onto the stencil design.
Como ven cubr铆 toda la superficie con estos pinos que a m铆 me parecen s煤per lindos y acorde a la fecha, pero tambi茅n atemporales, as铆 que lo puedo dejar as铆 una vez haya terminado la navidad.
As you can see, I covered the entire surface with these pine trees, which I think are super cute and seasonal, but also timeless, so I can leave them up once Christmas is over.
El siguiente paso era fijar con tornillos un peque帽o list贸n de madera en el cual luego ir铆an los percheros para las llaves o cualquier otra cosa que desee colgar en ellos, y si se fijan, la madera que les muestro en la imagen no fue la que us茅 al final, ya que no me gust贸 y decid铆 usar una un poco m谩s "desgastada".
The next step was to screw a small wooden slat in place, which would then hold the hooks for keys or anything else you want to hang on them. If you notice, the wood I show you in the picture is not what I ended up using, as I didn't like it and decided to use something a little more "worn."
Una vez se fij贸 la tabla lo siguiente fue colocar los tres percheros, y como estamos en Navidad decid铆 hacer tres arbolitos con trocitos de rama y colgarlos con nylon transparente, a los que luego coloqu茅 el tradicional "Ho, Ho, Ho" de la risa de Santa hecho en foamy y para completar la decoraci贸n le coloqu茅 una de las guirnaldas que hice el a帽o pasado, con algunos modificaciones para que se adaptara a la decoraci贸n de este a帽o, y listo.
Once the board was fixed in place, the next step was to attach the three coat hooks, and since it's Christmas, I decided to make three little trees out of pieces of branches and hang them with clear nylon, to which I then added the traditional "Ho, Ho, Ho" Santa laugh made out of foam. To complete the decoration, I added one of the garlands I made last year, with a few modifications to adapt it to this year's decoration, and that was it.
De esta forma he creado no solo un objeto decorativo, sino funcional para mi hogar, y una vez finalizada la navidad, le incorporar茅 dos peque帽as repisas para ubicar algunos de mis cactus, y por supuesto que lo compartir茅 con ustedes en su momento.

In this way, I have created not only a decorative object, but also a functional one for my home. Once Christmas is over, I will add two small shelves to place some of my cacti, and of course I will share it with you when the time comes.
