So around here we had very intense weeks between the orchestra and the ballet above all, since each presentation requires hours of rehearsal and of course that meant moving almost every day to La Asuncion and for quite long days, especially for the orchestra rehearsals that are super demanding, but with some organization we managed to do everything.
Today is a busy day because Miranda has her sharing at the school and when we pick her up we go directly from there to her Christmas concert of the orchestra, but this is not what I want to talk about today, but her end of the year closing of the Ballet, because finally, after many setbacks Miranda could make her first public presentation with this new academy, which for her was a dream come true and I wanted to share that beautiful experience in this my home.
Feliz día amigos de #familyandfriends espero estén teniendo un excelente día! Los míos hace dos semanas han sido súper agotadores por los exámenes finales de los niños y los preparativos para sus actividades extraescolares que también tienen un cierre por las vacaciones Navideñas.
Así que por aquí tuvimos semanas muy intensas entre la orquesta y el ballet sobre todo, ya que cada presentación requiere horas de ensayo y por supuesto eso implicaba movilizarnos casi todos los días a La Asunción y por jornadas bastante largas, sobre todo por los ensayos de la Orquesta que son súper demandantes, pero con algo de organización logramos hacer todo.
El día de hoy está movido porque Miranda tiene su compartir en la escuela y al retirarla nos vamos directo de ahí a su concierto navideño de la orquesta, pero no es de ésto que les quiero hablar hoy, sino de su cierre de fin de año del Ballet, porque al fin, después de muchos tropiezos Miranda pudo realizar su primera presentación en público con esta nueva academia, lo que para ella fue un sueño hecho realidad y quise compartir esa linda experiencia en ésta mi casa.

She loves going to her rehearsals and like all little girls the performances cause her a lot of excitement, so by July, which would be her end of the school year performance she was walking on cloud nine waiting to perform, but unfortunately two days before the performance Miranda got sick. Everyone at home contracted Covid, so she had to miss something she had put a lot of rehearsal time into.
But at that point there was nothing that could be done and luckily she is a pretty mature girl and although she wanted to go there were no big regrets about the situation. There would be other performances as she said, and yes, there was, a new opportunity arose with "The Ghosts of Scrooge ".

Ella ama ir a sus ensayos y como a todas las nenas las presentaciones le causan mucha emoción, por lo que para Julio, que sería su presentación de fin de año escolar estaba caminando por las nubes esperando poder presentarse, pero lamentablemente faltando dos días para la presentación Miranda se enfermó. Todos en casa contrajimos Covid, así que tuvo que perderse algo a lo que le había dedicado mucho tiempo de ensayo.
Pero en ese momento no había nada que se pudiese hacer y por suerte ella es una niña bastante madura y aunque quería ir no hubo grandes lamentos por la situación. Ya habría otras presentaciones como dijo ella, y sí, así fue, surgió una nueva oportunidad con "Los Fantasmas de Scrooge".

The rehearsals were kept in their usual schedules, although due to the rains Miranda could not attend on several occasions and a few weeks away she got a pretty bad flu that was complicated by asthma and had to miss two weeks at the academy.
Of course I informed her teacher of the situation, but Miranda was worried that she might be moved or that there might be some change in the days she was unable to attend, which was not the case, thank God. When she joined, not only did she maintain her position, but there were no modifications, so everything was in order.
Or so we thought... because only two days before the presentation our car was damaged without prior notice and in the middle of Sunday we had to look for a solution that thank God was found and on Monday we moved to the venue where the presentation would be for the dress rehearsal.
No puedo describir con palabras lo feliz que estaba Miranda porque podría presentarse para una obra de Navidad diferente al Cascanueces, que era lo que solía montar para éstas fechas su antigua escuela de Ballet. Así que estaba doblemente feliz, no sólo por presentarse sino por hacer algo diferente.
Los ensayos se mantuvieron en sus horarios habituales, aunque debido a las lluvias Miranda no pudo asistir en varias oportunidades y faltando unas semanas tomó una gripe bastante fuerte que se complicó con el asma y tuvo que faltar dos semanas a la academia.

Cuando se incorporó no sólo mantuvo su posición sino que no hubo modificaciones así que todo estaba en orden.
O eso creíamos... porque faltando sólo dos días para la presentación nuestro carro se dañó sin previo aviso y en pleno domingo nos tocó buscar una solución que gracias a Dios se encontró y el lunes nos trasladamos a la sede donde sería la presentación para el ensayo general.
So everything was ready, things were going as they should until Monday night and early Tuesday morning (the day of the presentation) when heavy rains began to fall all over the island. The truth is that as soon as I woke up and saw the rain I felt anguished because the two access roads to get to Juan Griego (where the theater was located) every time it rains hard it becomes a landslide zone.
Miranda could not believe it. It seemed that what had happened the previous time would be repeated and that he would not be able to show up. The hours went by and the weather did not improve, in fact we decided to leave even when it was raining so as not to be late, since the theater was almost an hour away and with the rain we had to take precautions.
I was very worried but happy to see her fulfill her dream of performing for Christmas and even though it rained all the way we arrived on time.
The theater was full of little dancers and parents excited to see their girls dance after months of rehearsal and in Miranda's case the emotion was greater because it was a goal accomplished, a dream achieved that with her perseverance and a touch of divine help could be achieved!
When she arrived at the theater the first thing she did was to locate her group mates and of course I took the opportunity to take some pictures of them together. They were happy, super excited to be able to perform together this time and finally after a few hours of waiting they were called to enter the theater and shortly after we were able to enter to take our places.
Así que ya todo estaba listo, las cosas marchaban como debían hasta que el lunes durante la noche y madrugada del martes (día de la presentación) fuertes lluvias comenzaron a caer en toda la isla. Miranda no lo podía creer. Parecía que se repetiría lo de la vez anterior y que no podría presentarse. Transcurrían las horas y el tiempo no mejoraba, de hecho decidimos salir aún lloviendo para no llegar tarde, ya que el teatro nos queda a casi una hora de camino y con la lluvia había que tomar las previsiones.
Yo estaba muy preocupada aunque feliz de poder verla cumplir su sueño de presentarse para Navidad y aunque llovió todo el camino llegamos puntuales.
El teatro estaba lleno de pequeñas bailarinas y padres emocionados por ver a sus niñas bailar después de meses de ensayo y en el caso de Miranda la emoción era mayor pues era una meta cumplida, un sueño alcanzado que con su perseverancia y un toque de ayuda divina se pudo lograr!
Al llegar al teatro lo primeros que hizo fue ubicar a sus compañeras de grupo y por supuesto aproveché de tomarles algunas fotografías juntas. Ellas estaban felices, súper emocionadas de poder presentarse juntas esta vez y finalmente después de unas horas de espera las llamaron para ingresar a sala y poco tiempo después pudimos entrar nosotros a tomar nuestros lugares.
The work was not like what we were used to since it was not only about Ballet. It was a mixture of theater with different fusions such as contemporary and classical dance with a very beautiful result.
I particularly would have liked to have seen more ballet, but it was a beautiful presentation and from the smallest to the biggest they did it beautifully.
Miranda played an angel and for me she was the most beautiful Angel of all! She did her steps just right and we sitting in the front row were able to get great pictures of the whole performance and even record her participation.
For her to finally get up on those boards was a great satisfaction and a great joy for us to see her fulfill her dreams and enjoy doing something she loves. I think as parents to see her perseverance, concern, determination and the way she enjoys what she does is reward enough for the time we dedicated to take her to and from her rehearsals.
La obra no fue igual a lo que estábamos acostumbrados ya que no se trató sólo de Ballet. Era una mezcla de teatro con diferentes fusiones como danza contemporánea y clásica con un resultado muy bonito.
Particularmente me hubiese gustado haber visto más ballet, pero fue una presentación preciosa y desde las más pequeñitas hasta las más grandes lo hicieron hermoso.
Miranda interpretaba un ángel y para mí fue el Angel más bello de todos! Hizo sus pasos tal como correspondía y nosotros sentados en primera fila pudimos tener excelentes fotografías de toda la presentación e incluso grabar su participación.
Para ella finalmente lograr subirse a esas tablas fue una gran satisfacción y de mucha alegría para nosotros el verla cumplir sus sueños y disfrutar haciendo algo que le encanta. Creo que como padres el ver su constancia, preocupación, empeño y la forma en que disfruta lo que hace es suficiente recompensa para el tiempo que dedicamos a llevarla y traerla de sus ensayos.
