When you think of Christmas, the first thing that comes to your mind is probably "gifts" and the way things have been going for a long time, it seems that everything is about that, so it is not surprising that the word gift, associated with "expenses" is the first thing we think of as Christmas approaches.
But in reality Christmas is much more than gifts, spending and premieres. Christmas should be a time for reflection, thanksgiving and retrospection. I won't even say for family togetherness, since we have the whole year for that and if eleven months were not enough to do it in one month it is a bit hypocritical, don't you think?
Having said that, for me Christmas is the time when I sit down to think about what things I did this year, what was wrong to try to correct it and what was right to continue with it. It is a time to thank God for a whole year of care and to embrace a little more the ones I love. I do it all year long, not only at Christmas, but it just gets out of control at this time of the year.
Hopefully the day will come when Christmas will stop being equal to money, budget and spending to become a time of true reflection with a view to correct and improve what is not right in our lives, be grateful for what we have and value the people who walk beside us every day.

Al pensar en Navidad seguramente lo primero que viene a tu mente es "regalos" y es que por como han marchado las cosas desde hace mucho tiempo, pareciera que todo se trata de eso, por lo que no es de extrañar que la palabra regalo, asociada con "gastos" sea lo primero en lo que pensamos al acercarse la Navidad.
Pero en realidad Navidad es mucho más que regalos, gastos y estrenos. La Navidad debería ser una época de reflexión, de agradecimiento y retrospeccion. Ni siquiera diré que para la unión familiar, ya que para eso tenemos todo el año y si once meses no alcanzaron para ello pretender hacerlo en un mes resulta un poco hipócrita, no creen?
Dicho ésto, para mí la Navidad es el tiempo en que me siento a pensar en qué cosas hice éste año, qué estuvo mal para tratar de corregirlo y qué estuvo bien para continuar en ello. Es momento de agradecer a Dios por todo un año de cuidados y abrazar un poco más a los que amo. Que lo hago todo el año, no sólo en Navidad, sólo que en estas fechas la cosa se sale de control.
Ojalá llgase el día en que Navidad deje de ser sea igual a dinero, presupuesto y gasto para convertirse en una época de verdadera reflexión con miras a corregir y mejorar lo que no está bien en nuestras vidas, ser agradecidos por lo que tenemos y valorar a las personas que caminan a nuestro lado cada día.
