With two kids at home, in the middle of the vacations, and limited by fuel problems, it's time to be creative, so that boredom doesn't completely ruin the days off.
Luckily, at home, this is not a big problem, because we have an arsenal of board games, and a super creative mom, who invented the Board Game Olympics, 2023.
Aha, as you read... a whole week of board games, and I must say that it was a pretty "flexible " Olympics, not to say a bit messy, because the organizing committee (mom and dad) is not on vacation, so there were only two different categories per day, and no fixed schedule. Still, everything went very well.
The "disciplines " that were part of these first Olympics (more to come for sure), were: Clue, Monopoly, Chess, 4 in a row, Black out, Guess what, I saw it first, Scrabble, Jenga, Ludo and Stop.
And I must say, the kids took the Olympics so seriously that they even made a placard of positions.
Well... to be honest, Miranda wanted to make the poster and Matias helped her after a few negotiations, in which they made a "barter", which consisted of Miranda washing the dishes two days in a row, in exchange for Matias' help.
The winner of the Olympics? Well, it was pretty even between Miranda and my husband, but in the end Miranda won.
Matias and I ended up as the absolute losers, because despite winning some games, we never made it to the final of any "discipline ", which was all the same to me, but Matias is a very bad loser, and we laughed a lot because of all the drama he caused every time he was eliminated from a game, without being able to accumulate points.
But in spite of everything, we had a pretty fun week, and between games, the occasional outing, and impromptu movie nights, our vacations are going faster than we imagined.
So here's an idea for the daddies who are in the same situation as us.
Con dos chicos en casa, en plenas vacaciones, y limitados por los problemas del combustible, toca sí o sí ser creativos, para que el aburrimiento no arruine por completo los días libres.
Por suerte, en casa, esto no es un gran problema, porque tenemos un arsenal de juegos de mesa, y una mamá súper creativa, que se inventó las Olimpiadas de Juegos de Mesa, 2023.
Ajá, como leen... una semana completita de juegos de mesa, y debo decir que fueron unas Olimpiadas, bastante "flexibles", por no decir un poco desordenadas, porque el comité organizador (papá y mamá) no está de vacaciones, así que se realizaban sólo dos categorías diferentes por día, y sin ningún horario fijo. Aún así, todo marchó muy bien.
Las "disciplinas" que formaron parte de estas primeras Olimpiadas (seguro vienen más), fueron: Clue, Monopoly, Ajedrez, 4 en línea, Black out, Adivina qué, Yo lo vi primero, Scrabble, Jenga, Ludo y Stop.
Y debo decir que los niños se tomaron tan en serio las Olimpiadas que hasta un cartel de posiciones hicieron.
Bueno... para ser sincera, Miranda quiso hacer el cartel y Matías la ayudó luego de unas cuantas negociaciones, en las que hicieron un "trueque", que consistió en que Miranda lavaría los platos dos días seguidos, a cambio de la ayuda de Matías.
¿El ganador de las Olimpiadas? Pues estuvo bastante parejo entre Miranda y mi esposo, pero finalmente ganó Miranda.
Matías y yo, terminamos como los perdedores absolutos, ya que a pesar de ganar algunas partidas, nunca llegamos a la final de ninguna "disciplina", lo que para mí, daba lo mismo, pero Matías es muy mal perdedor, y nos reíamos demasiado por todo el drama que armaba, cada vez que era eliminado de algún juego, sin poder acumular puntos.
Pero a pesar de todo, pasamos una semana bastante divertida, y entre juegos, una que otra salida, y noches de cine improvisadas, se nos están yendo las vacaciones, más rápido de lo que imaginamos.
Así que por aquí les dejo esta idea, a los papitos que se encuentran en la misma situación que nosotros.
