Going to the beach was for many years my favorite weekend plan, especially during my adolescence, because it was the only place close to home available to enjoy with friends. In fact, I owe much of my freckles to the many hours under the sun and although for various reasons I was away from it, a little over a year ago it has become part of our family routine again.
Happy start of the week beautiful people of #lifestyle, I hope you have a fabulous week ahead. In my corner of the world we are resuming the routine after a small but restorative vacation for Easter, and it is just about this that I want to talk to you today because we took the opportunity to take a trip to our favorite place (more of the children than mine!) ... the beach!
As many of you know I live in Isla Margarita Venezuela, and as if that wasn't enough my house is very close to the best beaches of the island, so visiting it was an everyday thing.
But over the years between my work occupations, the departure of my best friends to other states of the country and a little more aware of the sun damage on my skin the trips to the beach decreased a lot, and then with the arrival of the children ended up being only for special occasions, both to take care of their skin and the fact that our beaches have a pretty strong waves and far from enjoying the moment ended up being a lot of stress for me.
Luckily for my children, now that they are older I feel more relaxed about going to the beach and they have become part of our daily activities, and it could not be otherwise if it is part of the lifestyle on an island! So every time we can we take a little trip to the beach.
And I used to shy away from beaches with a lot of waves, but now they are the favorite ones for the kids because they can slide with their boards, so on Saturday we went to Playa el Agua, one of the most famous beaches of the island.
But when we arrived we realized that it was completely full, in fact there was no space to park the car and although the children were disappointed the truth was very happy to see so much movement on the beach because it is no secret the situation of the country and to see that after so many years our island is being visited again by tourists is simply a blessing.
The beach was simply beautiful, the awnings on the sand were full of tourists and the atmosphere was the same as in the best years of Playa el Agua.
Unfortunately we could not stay, so we set out to visit other smaller beaches in search of one where we could stay and finally we found one that being a small fishermen's beach was relatively lonely.
This beach is located in El Cardón, a small fishing village on the island and although it is not one of the nicest, it was our only option at that moment, but in spite of everything the kids had a great time.
As soon as we arrived Matias improvised a soccer field and we organized a game between the four of us. Adults against kids... of course my husband and I won because the goalie of the other team (my daughter Miranda) was a little distracted playing with the sand!
After some time playing, they decided to go into the water even though it was freezing and together with my husband they enjoyed an incredible time running the waves. I didn't really dare and decided to take some pictures to share with you.
It really was a great afternoon in the company of the ones I love the most and even though we didn't get to go to the beach we ended up having a really fun afternoon.
It's been a long time since I played at the beach and of course the kids were happy to see me running after the ball since they usually do it with my husband, but I wanted to give them the pleasure and I ended up enjoying it much more than they did!
And that's how we spent our Saturday, enjoying a little more of our little paradise and our family.
Happy week to all of you guys. Kisses and blessings!
Besitos y bendiciones!
