Every situation in life is temporary. So, when life is good, make sure you enjoy and receive it fully. And when life is not so good, remember that it will not last forever and better days are on the way. – Jenni Young
I probably found this quote about half a decade ago, it was uploaded and solidified on my socials back in 2019, with a picture of Bruce Lee in the background.
I have a collection of these quotes in many different places, but mostly on Instagram; I use it as a digital album of mine. Over there I store images of different kinds, starting with memorable moments that are worth cherishing. I have cutouts of songs displayed in an "aesthetic" view, which is pleasing to the eye, but also, a bit agonizing to the soul.
It's a weird little place, my Instagram feed and account. However, nowadays it's less about me and more about the things I love.
From the random internet quotes to some of the realest stuff I've read and learned from the books I've "perused" over so far. A lot of my "Photography" can be found there too, a tad bit about hobbies, a bit of tech, and a random dump of images consisting of all the stray animals and pets that I've taken care of.
My activity in the WEB2 realm is now quite low; the time I spend there is 80% business, and 20% trash talk and memes. That's what WEB2 is good for nowadays, business and memes.
Only my Instagram account holds some value because over there it's mostly the people I care about and the things I care about, all in one place.

However, if we're talking social media and "content", then after Instagram it's definitely Hive.
Now, it's not like Instagram is of more importance, but I have been on Instagram for almost a decade now. So, I still have a long way to go on Hive.
Yet, if we just put both account creation dates aside, and just focus on content, time invested, and value, then Hive within just 22 months has overtaken every other social media platform's activity and overall value added. Whatever I've done so far on Hive, I've done it all on WEB2 platforms too, but there was little to absolutely no value there.
Yes, I got to know some amazing people in the WEB2 realm, but how much have I learned so far?
The number of thoughtful conversations, in-depth details about Crypto, and having full ownership and control over your content, while also being incentivized, it's nothing like the WEB2 space.
Yet, it's 2023, and thus far, can any WEB2 platform offer all these?
On Hive I've written close to 500 posts so far, my word count being at least 500 words to a 1000. So, I'd say my average is 750 words per post. That makes 400,000 words so far. That's no joke, but I could've done better I believe.
I've written mostly about myself and my life, that's what I do best, I know myself and my life better than anyone else. My life, lifestyle, circumstances, experiences, hobbies, photography, food, and gaming, you name it. I've covered it all, and I'm still looking for more categories to cover.
Why limit my experiences and my blog?
Instagram is more about visual dominance, the "aesthetic vibes", where the eyes do most of the work. Hive, however, is all about the mind and the heart, our soul. I can quite meticulously share my wins, my losses, moments of joy, and pain; chances are, I won't even be judged.
Even if I am judged, should I really care though?
If Instagram is my album, then Hive is my diary. And after almost 2 years here, I'm really glad that I chose Hive...
