It's been a while since I've last written anything related to fitness. I guess it's that way simply because I haven't been that active and "fit" lately. The last few months have been a roller coaster ride for me and my daily routine. It goes from a lot of work to no work at all, sometimes getting to sleep till noon and then suddenly having to wake up at 7 in the morning for a couple of days straight. It's all messed up, and I'm just trying to pick up these random pieces, make it all look clean and tidy, but so far it all just seems impossible to sort out.

I know I'll get back on track again, but for now I'm just not stressing anymore. I'm just waiting for that one chance to bounce back in full force.

Now, back to today's topic, why I chose to dive deep into the world of fitness and bodybuilding.

A lot of people think I went with bodybuilding because it was "cool" and "trendy" back then. Around 2016 the fitness and gym business in Dhaka was booming, you'd find a new gym in almost every corner of Dhaka. All of a sudden people were really health conscious. And if not about the trend, then it would be the usual question, if I was doing it to look good lol. If I was just another "sheep" following the trend or if I was doing it just to look good, then I surely wouldn't be in the game for this long.

People with the wrong mindset and goal are only there to ride on the bandwagon, when the wagon starts to slow down, these people just get off at some point.

I chose to go with this route because I had to, I had no other options really. Back in 2014/15 I was living quite an unhealthy lifestyle, and that is why I would fall ill almost twice a year. Even the diseases were nothing to joke about, the list contains quite a few deadly ones and I really don't wanna talk about them right now. All I know is that my body was getting thrashed and beaten down year by year, disease after disease.

These diseases cost me a lot of time, pushed me off track, for which I had to listen to and endure a lot of bullshit. Having to hear things that I surely didn't deserve.

I simply didn't have a say in it, then why did I have to go through all this physical and mental abuse? I'm not the one to decide my fate, how I fall ill, why I fall ill and why such diseases target me and decide to set me back in life.

That's when I decided to change things up for good, at least give a few available options a try.

Fitness was the first thing that popped into my mind. I wasn't that hardcore and knowledgeable on the art of bodybuilding back then, but it was all quite intriguing.

So, after finally being unshackled from a lengthy 8 month bedridden state, I just decided to head out and get my first gym membership A S A P. Eagerly waiting to learn more about fitness, eating healthy and getting fit. I used to take an hour a day just to do some reading and a bit of research on fitness, bodybuilding, diet and health. Soon enough, I cracked the code, my own code.

When it comes to fitness, bodybuilding and even diet, everyone has their own code, like our own personal and unique wallet address. Simply put, what works for me might not work for you, even if it does work, chances are that it won't be as effective on you.

Just after 4 months of training I built quite the physique and a really healthy eating habit.

Soon enough I was even offered a job to train people at the gym I used to workout in. I didn't take the job, but I surely did volunteer in helping and guiding newer members with the basics. Later on I did provide personal training, but it was mostly for friends and family. Personal training is a whole different game, customized workout routines, diet charts and a ton of other things. It's just not my thing, not for the money it pays and the time it requires haha.

I continued to workout quite consistently and managed to progress ahead for almost 3 years straight. I took my knowledge about fitness and health to a whole new level. I was also one of the fittest from my own circle. I wasn't quite bad in the strength category either, I could pull 3 to 4 times my bodyweight and push almost double. Not only did it help me physically, it helped a lot mentally as well. The whole process, if done right, it surely can be quite therapeutic.

And I can gladly say that after I got fit back in 2016, from then to now I've never fallen ill, not even once. That's truly my biggest achievement in this journey, it's not the big heavy lifts, not the chiseled physique, not even all the knowledge I've gained. Being healthy and fit for this long, that's what I've really fallen in love with.

Sadly, it all had to come to an end. Because soon enough my hands were full with work related stuff, on top of that came Covid, so managing time for the gym wasn't possible for me.

It's been 3 years since I've last stepped into the gym, way longer than I thought it would be. I did somehow manage to maintain my physique and a healthy diet. I never liked eating outside that much, I prefer home-cooked food, so diet wasn't much of an issue. And I keep myself fairly active with free-hand workouts at home every now and then.

For the time being, the only thing running around my mind is to get a gym membership again. But like I said earlier, my daily routine is just messed up. I feel like I have to bring in some flow and stability before getting into this hardcore hobby of mine.

Hopefully I'll be able to get back on track with my fit and healthy lifestyle again.
