BIREUEN'S 27TH ANNIVERSARY // An Extraordinary Celebration Filled with Happiness, Culture, and Community Spirit.

In this post, I will share my experience of visiting a major event in the city of Bireuen, which was held to commemorate the 27th anniversary of Bireuen Regency. The event began on Saturday, October 3, and continued until October 12, 2026, so it lasted for around nine days.
At the opening ceremony, the event took place in front of the Bireuen Regent's official residence. The main event was held at the Cot Gapu Green Open Space (RTH), with the closing ceremony featuring an Islamic religious sermon attended by various prominent figures from Bireuen City, one of whom was the Regent of Bireuen.
To attend this special event, I was willing to make the long journey from Aceh Tamiang to Bireuen. Bireuen is my hometown, and I didn't want to miss any events held there.
I visited this event at night, and the sight left me amazed because so many people had come that the city was packed with crowds.
During this event, the scenery in Bireuen City became incredibly beautiful. At night, colorful lights illuminated almost every corner of the city, creating a grand and magical atmosphere. The nighttime was also a perfect opportunity to gather and spend time with the people closest to us.
To ensure that this event runs smoothly, some roads have been closed to vehicles (the road in front of the Bireuen Pendopo). This event has been going on for more than a week, but as the days go by, more and more people are coming here. Along the road, we can also find so many vendors selling various kinds of goods, ranging from food to equipment, all at very affordable prices.
Even from the roadside, we can already see so many visitors busy with their own activities. Oh, and to commemorate the 27th anniversary of Bireuen, many competitions are also being held, ranging from general competitions to traditional ones.
I did not explore this event any further; I simply enjoyed every little thing that I found interesting. The colorful lights all around, combined with the sound of music, made the atmosphere feel truly amazing, and I was surrounded by smiling, happy faces.
And this is a snack that is very popular among many people because it releases smoke from the mouth when eaten. This viral snack is known as Ice Smoke or Dragon’s Breath, and it involves the use of liquid nitrogen.
The ingredients usually consist of colorful puffs or light snacks that are infused with liquid nitrogen. When the snacks are placed in the mouth, they produce a large amount of white vapor. However, this kind of snack also carries serious risks.
There are still many areas and attractions to explore at this Bireuen anniversary event, and in my next post, I will share my experience of trying various exciting rides, such as the Ferris wheel and the giant swing, as well as enjoying the views from above.
