It is understandable to say that working takes a lot of our time, for those who have a fixed time of work every week, having to be present at their working place ranging from nine hours daily to as much as 20 hours for some, all through the week days, having to use some of the hours preparing for work and also commute to and fro. Others who may have it easier might still work between the same hours, because they work from the comfort of their homes, giving them room to skip preparation for work and commuting to work.
Being able to wake up every morning, having nothing to do or nowhere to go other than doing whatever you want, whenever you want to, will have me rest well and stay most days indoors, while fitness will be my morning routine for the rest of my life.
I have been looking forward to the time when I will have enough to retire and rest from all the bustle and hustle and the struggles to make ends meet. It will be interesting for you to know that the best time of the year is usually when I go on my annual leave, which lasts for three weeks. I try to make it longer by fixing my leave to fall during the period between the easter break and the Salah break, which gives me an additional week of holiday.
When I am comfortable and have enough time and finances to serve me my whole life, travelling the world with my family should be at the peak of my list and a priority, learning new cultures and exploring the beauty of nature. Travelling is one thing I have had a passion for, but I am limited to travelling only to a few places in my country and never anywhere outside my country. Having the time and finances, I will be visiting countries in Europe, Asia, and the entire Western world, networking and learning about their culture, their food and meeting them in a personal way.
My time will also be used to learn new languages. The two languages that have been on my mind so much to learn have been the French language and Spanish. Having the luxury of time and money will help me learn these languages.
The truth about retirement that I have realised from those who have retired is that some regret not living their lives to the fullest, having to work most of their lives to save money and having little or no time to spend it. When they are retired, for those who were able to save enough, they do all the things they wanted to do when they were younger but had no time for. Some of them sometimes realise that these things would have been enjoyed more when they were younger, not when they are older. My greatest wish is to retire early, have enough set aside for myself, and do the things I was unable to do while I was younger, not leaving all the things I want to do until I am retired.
