“Dude, let’s go to Teresita’s bar,” Leonel urged his friend.
“I don’t think so. Tiffany’s furious, and I’d better behave myself.” Rubiel let out a sigh of disappointment.
“No, man. Is she still mad about what happened at Roxana’s party?”
“That’s right, and she keeps bringing it up all the time. She’s driving me crazy.” Rubiel rolled his eyes.
“Well, I was scared, too—showing up at the party and having to drag you out.” Leonel swung his arm like a whip.
“Shut up already—that’s not funny. For now, I’m going to behave myself until she gets over her bad mood.”
“Do you know who was asking about you after that incident?” Leonel gave him a mischievous look.
“No, who?” Rubiel showed unusual curiosity.
“Roxana. Haha.” Leonel nudged his friend.
“You’re kidding. She’s way too pretty to notice me.” Rubiel looked at his friend in disbelief.
“It’s true—she asked me about you herself. I gave her your cell phone number. Haha.”
“You’re an idiot—do you want Tiffany to kill me?” Rubiel looked worried.
“Don’t worry, Rubiel, that beauty won’t call you. Haha.” Leonel patted his friend on the back.
As they were leaving the café, a text message arrived on Rubiel’s cell phone. He quickly checked it, and his eyes nearly popped out of his head in shock. Leonel, worried about his friend, looked at the screen and burst out laughing.
Hi, Rubiel:
I hope you’re doing well, and I hope my party didn’t cause any trouble.
Kisses
“I can’t believe it.”
“Wow, looks like I was wrong, buddy. Now you’ve got a big problem. Haha.” Leonel handed the cell phone to his friend. “We better get going—we have to work tomorrow.”
Rubiel said goodbye to Leonel and headed for his car. He put the key in the ignition, and suddenly Roxana appeared—a beautiful dark-haired woman with blue eyes, a seductive mouth, and an incredible body. Rubiel jumped in fright, and a little scream filled the car.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.” Roxana flashed a charming smile as she leaned into the passenger-side window.
“No, no, you didn’t scare me. I’m just a little startled.” Rubiel looked nervously at Roxana.
“Can you give me a ride?” Roxana gave him a seductive look.
Rubiel hesitated a little as he looked at the sexy woman.
“All right. Get in.”
The red car’s engine roared as smoke billowed from the exhaust, and it sped down the paved road. Roxana and Rubiel chatted as soft love music filled the car. The man felt something he’d lost over time. He felt happy, and that made him realize the reality of his life with Tiffany.
“Drop me off here, Rubiel.” Roxana pointed with her index finger.
“But you don’t live here, as far as I remember. Haha.” Rubiel’s eyes sparkled.
“No, it’s just that I have to run an errand. Haha.” Roxana flashed a mischievous smile.
Just then, her cell phone began to ring insistently. Rubiel started to feel uncomfortable. Roxana looked at him expectantly.
“Sorry, I have to go now. The police are calling me. Haha.” Rubiel looked a little nervous.
“I understand. Don’t worry, we’ll talk tomorrow. Bye.” Roxana got out of the car.
The cell phone kept ringing.
“Tiffany, what’s going on?” Rubiel sounded annoyed.
“Where are you? It’s getting late. Come home quickly. You don’t want to make me mad, do you?”
“I’m on my way, Tiffany.” Rubiel hung up.
The next day, Rubiel ran into Leonel.
“Hi, Leonel. I have to tell you something.” Rubiel smiled.
“Wow, looks like someone woke up in a good mood. I don’t think it’s because of Tiffany. Haha.”
“No, yesterday I took Roxana out, and we talked for a long time.”
“I can’t believe it. Was that goddess with you? Haha.”
“That’s right. We had a great time; it’s been a while since I’ve felt this way with a woman.” Rubiel sighed.
“Well, ladies’ man, here comes your goddess. Go talk to her.”
Roxana walked sensually down the office hallway. Rubiel ran his hand through his hair and adjusted his tie, then raised his hand.
“Hi, Roxana.” Rubiel flashed a big smile.
The woman kept walking and passed right by him. She didn’t even look at Rubiel, who was left stunned and unsure of what to do.
“Man, buddy, what did you do to her? Haha.”
“I don’t know. I really don’t understand women.” Rubiel looked embarrassed.
“You know how women are. Let’s get to work.” Leonel put his arm around the dejected Rubiel’s shoulders.
The day flew by amid paperwork and stress. Exhaustion overwhelmed Rubiel, who, at the end of the day, said goodbye to his friend and got into his car. Just as he started the engine, Roxana appeared out of nowhere.
“Hi, baby.”
Rubiel looked at the woman, startled.
“Roxana, I thought you were mad at me.”
“Me? Angry? Are you crazy, baby?” Roxana flashed that charming smile.
“Well, this morning you walked right past me and didn’t even look at me.”
“You’re crazy, baby. I haven’t seen you all day. Can you give me a ride?” Roxana gave Rubiel a flirty look.
The man didn’t understand what was going on, so he nodded, bewildered, and Roxana quickly got into the car. As they drove down the highway and chatted cheerfully, her cell phone rang with that soft electronic ringtone. Roxana looked at Rubiel and, overcome by impulse, grabbed Rubiel’s phone and threw it out the window, then kissed him passionately. Rubiel and Roxana spent that night together and forgot everything about their lives.
The next day, Rubiel woke up bewildered and looked beside him, but Roxana was gone. Then he thought of Tiffany and ran out of the motel toward her house. His heart felt like it was about to burst out of his chest, and his nerves were gnawing at his mind. When he got home, everything seemed calm. He got out of the car slowly, with a thousand thoughts racing through his head. He opened the door and peeked inside, then slipped in quietly, like a cat.
He made his way to the kitchen and drank some milk.
“Where have you been, you bastard?” Tiffany appeared with her face smeared with green cream and a baseball bat in her hand.
“Wait, let me explain—it’s just that…”
“Don’t say a word. Now I’m going to teach you a lesson, you idiot.” Tiffany moved quickly toward Rubiel.
The frightened man fled as best he could from Tiffany’s fury. He started the car and sped off; when he arrived at work, he ran into Roxana. Rubiel’s face was as pale as a sheet of paper.
“Honey, what happened?” Roxana hugged Rubiel.
“Tiffany went crazy and was going to kill me.”
“How dare that crazy woman treat my baby like that? Let’s go to my apartment so you can calm down.”
Leonel let Roxana lead him away as she held him tightly. Meanwhile, Leonel watched his friend get into the car and ran desperately to catch up with him.
“Rubiel, Rubiel, don’t go!”
The cries were in vain; the car had disappeared over the horizon. A few minutes later, the couple arrived at the apartment. Roxana settled Rubiel onto the brown sofa, tucked a blanket around him, and kissed him on the forehead.
“I’ll be right back. I’m going to make you something delicious to eat. Get some rest.” Roxana headed to the kitchen, and before going in, she said, “No one will separate us now, baby.” A smile with a sinister undertone played across her face.
Rubiel nodded, bewildered, but didn’t think much of it and closed his eyes. Then a message popped up on his cell phone.
“Rubiel, I heard that Roxana is crazy—she has a split personality. Get out while you still can!”
Rubiel's eyes widened, and just as he was about to sit up, Roxana came out wielding a knife.
“Honey, are you going somewhere?” Roxana’s expression was cold.
“No, no, I was just getting comfortable. Haha.” Rubiel lay back down.
“I’ll be done soon. I love you.” Roxana smiled innocently again.
“Damn it!”

«No, amigo.
«No, ¿quién?». Rubiel mostraba una curiosidad inusual.
«Roxana. Jaja». Leonel codeaba a su amigo.
«Bromeas.
«No te preocupes, Rubiel, esa belleza no te llamará. Jaja».
«Perdón, no quise asustarte».
«No, no, no me asustaste. Solo que estoy sobresaltado». Rubiel miraba nervioso a Roxana.
«¿Me puedes llevar?».
Rubiel empezaba a sentirse incómodo. Roxana lo miraba expectante.
«Perdón, ya tengo que irme. La policía me llama. Jaja». Rubiel mostraba un poco de nerviosismo.
«Entiendo. No te preocupes, hablamos mañana. Adiós». Roxana salía del auto.
El celular seguía sonando.
«Tiffany, ¿qué sucede?». Rubiel sonaba molesto.
«¿Dónde estás? Se hace tarde. Ven rápido a casa. No quieres hacerme enojar, ¿verdad?».
«Hola, Leonel. Tengo que contarte algo». Rubiel sonreía.
«Vaya, parece que alguien amaneció feliz. No creo que se deba a Tiffany. Jaja».
«No, ayer lleve a Roxana y estuvimos conversando un largo rato».
«No te lo puedo creer. ¿Esa diosa estuvo contigo? Jaja».
Jaja».
«No sé. Realmente no entiendo a las mujeres». Rubiel se veía avergonzado.
«Ya sabes como son las mujeres. Vamos a trabajar».
¿Me puedes llevar?». Roxana miraba coquetamente a Rubiel.
«No digas nada.
Roxana abrazaba a Rubiel.
«Rubiel, Rubiel, ¡No te vayas!».
«Bebe, ¿Vas a alguna parte?». Roxana tenía un gesto frío.
«No, no, me estaba acomodando. Jaja». Rubiel volvía a acostarse.
«Ya voy a terminar. Te amo». Roxana volvía sonreír candorosamente.
«¡Diablos!».
