Hello all and Welcome!
I am making this post from @ecency dapp with screenshots from my phone on the hivestats.io website which is made possible by the
@leofinance channel.
All photo layout and editing was done on my phone using adobe lightroom which I have a subscription to and the free app canva.
I recently discovered content curation formerly only cosidering myself a content creator and let me tell ya its wild. I am making 10% APR as long as I use the current upvoting strategy I have been using.
When I first started with Hive and Steemit I didnt realize the value in what the platform truly offered.
This post is meant to bring awareness to the hivestats.io tracking of curation rewards and to help others realize the value of staking hive and curating content hence the @ecency tag.
I probably still have a lot to learn as I discover new ways to grow everyday but I can atleast help push folks as far as I have gone. Of course, It is always up to you all to take the time to grow your own knowledge and awareness of such things. Thanks for your time in doing so!
My current curation strategy is based on monitoring payout results of the past which I didnt actually log but I will keep in mind to do so for the next episode.
The strategy I am using is basically curating content daily by liking new posts by trusted profiles with a score higher than mine. I have also found that engaging further increases the likelihood of a higher payout. This looks like commenting and sharing outside the platform or reblogging to your own channel.
In order to keep my profile powered up I only curate 5-10% daily. This leaves me RC room for comments, reblog, and posts and ensures that I can always react to people who engage my own content which is necessary to build a channel.
I only curate new content within its first 30 minutes because the highest payouts are in this timeslot.
This actually really bums me out sometimes because I want to support you guys sooo bad on some posts but I know I might lose some HivePower voting so late on your content with such a small contribution.
My account generates a .01 HP vote with 100% delegation to votes. I am trying to create a curation trail of .2 HP daily at the moment but it would be great to do more!
I typically average about 10 upvotes per day.
Less when I am making posts. It's mostly when I am waiting to see how the community engages and interacts with my post that I seek to engage and interact with others posts.
That's another point I want to make. Without actually contributing to the platform you are less likely to feel invested and will probably find other avenues of success. The more often I post and engage with others on the platform the more rewards I seem to get. This may seem like common sense in branding and building a channel but not everyone really considers themselves to be a brand. That is how you have to approach this in order to create something sustainable.
Otherwise, you could possibly even lose HP if you just vote will nilly and dont engage the community.
In conclusion, if you want to grow your channels and rewards then it is an absolute must to monitor and understand your hive stats.
One suggestion I would make to hivestats.io would be formatting the curation reward futures screen for mobile. In the screenshot below I cannot seem to view them correctly on mobile firefox.
Anyways, I am pretty proud of the progress I have made with my account just in the last 30 days. Please feel free to make any suggestions if you have them below in the comments.
