Accompanied by Mimir, I checked several blocked paths to look for Atreus before finding footprint tracks leading toward the frozen upper wildwoods. Along the way, raiders ambushed us, but I fought them off before continuing the search.
Atreus had not returned home after burying the wolf, and Kratos grew increasingly worried as time passed. I knew I needed to follow the kid's tracks to see where he could have gone, so I set out into the cold landscape with Mimir attached to Kratos's waist.
We first looked toward a path where the realm chasm was far too unstable. Atreus shouldn't have tried this direction as per Mimir mentioned, and the unstable terrain was not open for me as well.
I moved along to check if he had exited through a nearby location, but the heavy door had not been opened, and there were no signs Atreus choosing that route.
Continuing the search, I came across the training ground. It was quiet, and Mimir pointed out that Atreus would hardly be out training in the middle of the night. That meant he had not come here either.
I needed to see where else he could have gone, and soon enough, I spotted another path ahead. Tracks went straight down toward the frozen river, which was most likely where he had buried the wolf. Following those prints seemed like the best decision to find him.
I followed the trail until I reached another door, but it was firmly locked, showing he had not taken that specific side path. Nearby sat the sled we used to get home.
The wolves were resting quietly nearby, but Atreus was nowhere around. However, there appeared to be a way leading further off to the side.
Kratos was sure he had crawled through a small opening in the rock, but Kratos could not fit through such a tight space with his large body. I had to clear a path for him, so I pulled out my Leviathan Axe and smashed through the frost-covered blockage, clearing the opening.
As I squeezed through the tight space to reach the other side, Mimir asked about the nightmares Kratos had been having. He mentioned how they seemed like the usual bad dreams, though Kratos noted they felt like far more than just regular dreams.
Soon, we emerged into the Upper Wildwoods, reaching an undiscovered area. I searched carefully for Atreus and noticed his tracks continuing down a fresh path, confirming I was still on the right trail.
Suddenly, the footprints stopped. It quickly became obvious that we were not alone. Several raiders emerged from the snowy surroundings to attack me. They did not look like monsters, but rather like wild human scavengers.
I swung my weapon and started attacking them heavily. Mere humans did not stand a chance against Kratos, and I quickly took down the initial wave.
However, more of them appeared, rushing forward to attack. As the fight went on, I felt like I was getting the hang of the battle tutorials and managing the combat smoothly.
Once I took care of all the raiders, Kratos noted that these hostile groups should not be this close to home. Mimir agreed, suggesting we should check on the protection stave before proceeding further.
That's all for this session. More moments coming soon and thanks for checking it out.
