As I mention in the title, the results are simply amazing. Watching the image appear on the film is both exciting and deeply rewarding. Seeing how something that began as a thought, an idea, a visit to a place, turns into adjusting parameters, measuring light, framing, taking the shot, removing the roll, and going through the entire chemical process is where everything finally makes sense.
Each frame carries a story, an idea, an intention. It tells something. But that is something I will leave for another post.
This roll, an AFP400, was shot with a Mamiya TLR, a camera with two lenses, one for composing and focusing and the lower one for capturing the image. These models were once the go to cameras for street photography and were very popular decades ago. They are discreet, and the act of looking down to focus and compose lowers the subject鈥檚 tension, making the photographer almost invisible. In the self portrait you can see the camera and the way it is typically used.

Como digo en el t铆tulo, los resultados son sencillamente geniales. Ver aparecer la imagen en el celuloide es emocionante y muy gratificante. Es incre铆ble ver c贸mo algo que comienza con un pensamiento, una idea, una visita a un lugar, pasa por ajustar par谩metros, medir la luz, encuadrar, disparar, sacar el carrete y atravesar todo el proceso qu铆mico. Ah铆 es cuando todo realmente cobra sentido.
Cada fotograma tiene una historia, una idea, una intenci贸n. Cuenta algo. Pero eso lo voy a dejar para otro post.
Este carrete, un AFP400, lo tir茅 con una Mamiya TLR, una c谩mara con dos lentes, uno para encuadrar y enfocar y el inferior para tomar la foto. Estos modelos fueron durante mucho tiempo c谩maras por excelencia para la fotograf铆a de calle y muy populares hace d茅cadas. Son discretas, y el hecho de tener que bajar la cabeza para enfocar y encuadrar hace que el sujeto relaje su nivel de tensi贸n, haciendo que el fot贸grafo pase pr谩cticamente desapercibido. En el autorretrato pueden ver la c谩mara y la forma en que se utiliza.
