Greetings, hivers.
An old fire hydrant, a little girl on a scooter, and a busy street. Three simple elements that, brought together in the same instant, become a question I return to again and again: why do we photograph? Maybe because photography allows us to rescue what would otherwise dissolve into the flow of the day. It gives value to what seems ordinary and reveals that even the most common corner of the city can hold a small mystery, a quiet tension, or a fleeting harmony.
I believe we photograph because reality never repeats itself in exactly the same way. The street changes every second, people pass by, gestures appear and disappear, and light briefly organizes the world before everything falls back into motion. Pressing the shutter is, in some way, an attempt to understand that fleeting order and to preserve a fragment of life before it vanishes.
In the end, perhaps we photograph not only to remember what we saw, but also to understand what we felt when we saw it. That is what keeps drawing me back to the street: the possibility that among noise, movement, and chance, an image can suddenly say something essential.

Un viejo hidrante, una ni帽a en patinete y una calle concurrida. Tres elementos simples que, reunidos en un mismo instante, se convierten en una pregunta a la que vuelvo una y otra vez: por qu茅 fotografiamos. Tal vez fotografiamos porque la fotograf铆a nos permite rescatar aquello que de otro modo se perder铆a en el flujo del d铆a. Le da valor a lo que parece ordinario y nos revela que incluso el rinc贸n m谩s com煤n de la ciudad puede contener un peque帽o misterio, una tensi贸n silenciosa o una armon铆a fugaz.
Creo que fotografiamos porque la realidad no se repite nunca de la misma manera. La calle cambia a cada segundo, la gente pasa, los gestos aparecen y desaparecen, y la luz organiza el mundo por un instante antes de que todo vuelva a disolverse en el movimiento. Disparar la c谩mara es, de alguna forma, un intento de comprender ese orden ef铆mero y de conservar un fragmento de vida antes de que desaparezca.
Al final, quiz谩s fotografiamos no solo para recordar lo que vimos, sino tambi茅n para entender lo que sentimos al verlo. Eso es lo que me sigue llevando a la calle: la posibilidad de que, entre el ruido, el movimiento y el azar, una imagen termine diciendo algo esencial.
