To the Father's House. [ENG/Esp]. monomad challenge

Hello, Hive friends! A few days ago, a group of photographers got together and were thinking about what to do that weekend to make it special. Since we’re all from Vedado, we decided to stay in the area.

Hola amigos de Hive en días pasados un grupo de fotógrafos nos reunimos y estuvimos pensando que hacer ese fin de semana para fuera diferente, como todos somos del Vedado determinamos quedarnos en el área.

It was the weekend, and traffic was getting heavier and heavier, so we thought staying in the area was a good idea. Now we had another subject to photograph; on previous occasions, we’d focused on architecture and balconies and done some street photography.

Era fin de semana, el transporte esta cada vez mas carro así que quedarnos en zona nos pareció buena idea. Ahora teníamos otro dilema que fotografiar, en ocaciones anteriores habíamos buscado arquitectura, balcones y hecho algo de fotografía callejera.

So we set out for a walk, hoping to be surprised by what we’d find. We turned onto 8th Street and headed toward Línea Street, and then I remembered there was a church nearby—it didn’t matter what denomination it was; taking photos around it and inside the church was a challenge.

Entonces nos dispusimos a salir a caminar y que el tema nos sorprendiera, nos adentramos por la calle 8 y nos encaminamos hacia la calle Línea entonces recordé que cerca de allí había una Iglesia, no importaba su denoominacion, hacer fotos en sus alrededores y dentro del templo era un desafío.

When we arrived, the entrance gate was still closed, but that didn't matter because it gave us the chance to explore the surrounding area. From the fence, we could see details of the building and its gardens, and since the gate was open, we could catch a glimpse of the interior.

Al llegar aún la reja de entrada se encontraba cerrada no importaba pues nos daba la oportunidad de curiosar en sus alrededores, desde la cerca observábamos detalles de su construcción, sus jardines y como la puerta estaba abierta alcanzabamois a ver algo en su interior.

Before long, a young man came over to open the gate. He greeted us very kindly, invited us in to spend time with them, and offered us a cup of coffee—which we gladly accepted. We chatted for a while, and then they showed us into the temple, which was bathed in striking colors as rays of sunlight streamed through the stained-glass windows, creating a beautiful spectacle.

En poco tiempo un joven se para abrir la reja y muy amablemente nos dió los buenos días y nos invitó a entrar y compartir con ellos, nos invitaron a tomarnos una taza de café la cual fue muy bien recibida, conversamos un poco y nos dieron acceso al templo el cual lucía colores muy llamativos ya que algunos rayos del sol que atravesaban los vitrales regalandonos un hermoso espectáculo.

Personally, I found the place very pleasant; some of the parishioners in attendance were offered breakfast, which they appreciated from the bottom of their hearts.

En lo personal el espacio me resulto muy agradable, a algunos de los fieles presentes les ofrecían desayuno lo cual que agradecían de todo corazon.

Little by little, the church filled up, and we were happy because we had achieved our goal of photographing the place according to each person’s interests.

Poco a poco la Iglesia se fue llenando y nosotros felices pues habíamos cumplido nuestro objetivo de fotografiar el lugar en dependencia del interés de cada uno.
