Greetings, Hivers.

On our way to the piers of Old Havana, we passed through Plaza de las Palomas, a place that is almost a must for both tourists and locals. It is a small part of the historic district whose main attraction is the interaction with the pigeons that gather there.

Back then, feeding them was not allowed, but we always managed to bring some grains with us and get the pigeons to come and eat from our hands. Today, the place is rather neglected, and there are now people selling small bags of food to tourists.

Another obligatory stop is the statue of the Caballero de Par铆s, a colorful character who was very popular in Havana during the 1950s and 60s and eventually became a true Havana icon.

In reality, he was a mentally ill but completely harmless man who dressed in Victorian-style clothes as if he belonged to the royalty of that era. Today, he is honored with a beautiful bronze statue that already bears the marks of time, especially on its index finger and beard鈥攖he very parts everyone touches as they pass by.

That's all for today.

I hope you enjoy today's photos. I look forward to reading your comments.

Saludos hivers.
