Antipodes, yet, always present whenever you feel too attached to something.
Last night, as I was attempting to convince my brain that my physiologic needs had a prevalence over his ideas on how different 3D figures can fit in a 4D environment (really, IDK WTF it was doing with that idea). I came to realize something that is many times mentioned as a joke... Is not so much of a joke!
STEEM is addictive!
"OH, no! why?!" I thought, because any addiction is potentially dangerous if it is not understood well.
I HAVE to know.
"Have to know" 3 words that were forged into me since childhood. 3 words that would define my way of walking through life. I am thankful for that thumb rule!
A thumb rule that tagged me during my whole life as "too full of himself" to some lesser ones and as "inspiring" to the superb people I've come across.
So, addictive, and I'm still thinking why.
The monetarily rewards are a tempting reason. Yet, I've had my ups and downs in this account, including a moment where I was willing to pass it to some other user. It seems like my addiction had already settled in, because I kept on coming back, even when I was getting cents for 1500 word ~40 Flesch–Kincaid article...
Yes, money was a good bait to lure me out of the pleb's social webpages, but it is not the real incentive... I cannot recall the last time I've withdrew a dime out of the account.
Perhaps it is not "the money" in it, but how one's words are valued...
I always gave more value to comments over rewards, yes, rewards are good because they give visibility, therefore,
more comments...
Yet, even when I had no comments (or just bot comments), I kept coming back for more!
No, it is not anything blockchain/STEEM related... It HAS to be something else. As always, I should think out of the box too.
No matter I look at it: STEEM ends up breaking bad into people.
Upvotes are given by people, flags, rewards, comments... Everything
So, people "should" make a difference, right?
They are all able to think "out of the box".
They did not settle for "the large ones", they stayed around even when the rewards were close to null and all the upvotes that they got were their own. They stood their ground when STEEM's value collapsed, even some, stood their ground to redeem themselves after being caught red handed plagiarizing articles from real authors.
The lesser ones, sooner or later, return to their hollow-head social media websites.
It all breaks down to PEOPLE
Money was the bait, thinking people was the fishing hook... Now I'm totally bound to STEEM in a way no other network hooked me before.
Because: This thinking people is constantly bombarding me with new data, data that triggers ideas and is the mortar for my article building process. I've always been addicted to thinking, and even when my perseverance was always low, the satisfaction I get from getting a "I loved your post!" is the best incentive I have to steem on!
Yes, You are the reason for my addiction, and until you leave for other network: I'll be staying around.
