Christmas is my favorite holiday of all times, I like it much better than my birthday to tell you the truth. It's a time of hope, and wonder, and light, both artificial and spiritual, and also, a time for creativity.
Normally we put the Nativity, some Garlands and the Tree. This weekend we put out only the Nativity and two garlands plus, some minor decorations, some bought, others made by me.
We've had the same ornaments for over 10 years, because of the economic situation in our country it's hard to renew the inventory, but, I always try to change the distribution of the decor to keep things interesting.
I used some ornament from the tree (the golden bows) and it looks lovely.
I made it a few years ago with recicled materials, some ornaments ready for the trash bin I restored them and used them, as well as broken pieces from the tree.
Inside there are some colored stones and every Chritsmas Eve we put a candle in the middle and light it.
It was meant for holding candy but we ended up using it as a pencil holder.
I wanted to do a candleholder but I couldn find small candles.
Then I wanted to fill it with stuff but couldn't think of anything, so we've been using it as a pencil holder as well, maybe this year I'll finally finish it.
This one is the book shell. This gave me trouble because it broke, the garland I mean, so I had to patch it up first, then hang it.
My favorite, the Nativity, although the lights are messed up, I liked how it turned out.
The tree isn't finished so no pictures yet. Maybe next weekend I'll show you how it all came out.
I loved my weekend, maybe not as interesting as most people but, I like that I got to give my home a new air, of happiness and joy.
