Christmas Magic Starts Here: Finding Our Christmas Tree 🌲✨️
Hi everyone in this community! I hope you’re all doing well and had a wonderful weekend.
Just a little bit of information about Christmas in the Philippines, when September comes, it officially feels like the beginning of our very long Christmas season!
Since moving here to Germany, this will be my first time celebrating the yuletide season with my new family. I’m so happy and excited that this weekend, we started looking for our very own Christmas tree to bring home.
It may be a simple experience, but for me, it feels extra special—a new tradition, a new home, and a new Christmas to remember.
After having lunch today, we started walking to a big Christmas tree garden where we could choose the tree we liked.
The best part is that this beautiful place is just near our home, so we decided to simply enjoy a lovely afternoon walk together. It made the experience even more special and relaxing.
As soon as we arrived, I was so excited to look around and see which Christmas tree we could choose!
I was especially happy to see and experience a real Christmas tree for the first time. Back in the Philippines, we usually use artificial Christmas trees, so they always have that perfect shape.
But here in Germany, these are real trees, and you don’t always find one with a perfectly shaped appearance—and that’s what makes them so special.
Being able to touch a real Christmas tree, smell it, and see it up close was such an amazing experience for me. It may seem simple, but for someone experiencing it for the first time, it was truly a beautiful and unforgettable moment.
So, we started looking for our Christmas tree, and honestly, it was a little complicated to find the one we really liked! Ella and Mother were also busy looking for the Christmas tree they wanted.
As I walked further toward the back, I suddenly saw one that immediately caught my attention. As soon as I saw its shape, I knew I really liked it!
“This one definitely looks good!” I thought. So, we decided that this would be our Christmas tree and put our name on it to reserve it.
We continued walking around, and Ella found a Christmas tree she really liked, while Mother found one she liked too. So, they also put their names on their chosen trees.
Matthias had even made these customized wooden name tags so we could reserve the Christmas trees we liked. I thought that was such a lovely and personal touch!
We continued walking around, and everywhere we looked, there were so many beautiful Christmas trees. Then, as I was walking, I saw another one that caught my attention. I liked it even more than the first one I chose!
So, I decided to change my choice. I removed my name from the first tree and transferred it to the new one. And here’s how my chosen Christmas tree looks!
Ella was also having a hard time choosing because she really liked a few of the trees. And honestly, I can understand her because there were so many beautiful ones to choose from!
Maybe next month, we might still change our minds, but for now, we decided to leave our names on the trees we chose.
You can see here some of the trees that caught my attention. There were actually about three that I really liked and would happily choose from! But honestly, every tree there was beautiful in its own way.
I’m already getting excited and thinking about the theme and decorations for my very first Christmas tree here in Germany. I can’t wait to see how it will all come together!
