This is a story of persistence and stubbornness.
True qualities of a Rat Terrier.

Max stole the neighbor's socks once and ran out their front door.

Today he decides he wants black socks.
They were the only pair up on the wicker chest. I told him no. He persists and even knocks books down trying to get to them. He whines, barks and waits. I tell Max "no way".

This is when the idea of the white socks came to me.
I go to the dirty clothes hamper and put place them within reach. This is the first time in the four years of Max’s life I have seen him refuse a pair of socks and dirty ones at that.

Right now he is looking out the window showing no interest. If I leave the room he will be back trying to get the black socks I am sure.

This is the way we must go after our goals refusing any other compensation along the way.

Our pets have a lot to teach us if we pay attention.
