Elmina, of Ghana, is a must-visit place in Ghana. It's right beside the sea at Capr Coast. It's this very place where the slaves were kept and transported to America and Europe. Many had sacrificed their lives here, more were sold in the bloody and notorious slavery business. We can never forget this dark period of our human history.
While walking through the dark and damp cells, I was reduced to speechless. I could almost hear them wail, cry and moan here. How they struggled, unwilling to leave their family and motherland. They shed tears and bloods, awaiting for the unknown to happen. What would tomorrow be?
In this place history has been perserved. We should never ever forget the past. Even though I visited this plave almost ten years ago, the memory of it is still fresh.
