Well, this morning I visited the family's garden which is not far from the house, if you travel by motorbike it only takes five minutes. I went there just to see the situation, whether the garden was full of weeds or not because right now it's the rainy season here so it's useless to get rid of the weeds, for example today we eradicate them and when we come back tomorrow they will have started to grow again. So I went there just to see. When I got there I saw that there were cacao pods that were ripe, which meant they had to be picked immediately. Luckily I had a bucket and knife with me, so I picked it straight away.
After finishing picking, I immediately opened the skin using a knife so I could take out the seeds. We only take the seeds from the cacao fruit, while we throw away the skin because we can't sell the skin yet. I put the seeds in a bucket and took them home. When I got home, I didn't wash it straight away, I let it sit in the bucket, then I'll wash it tomorrow. I let it sit to make the washing process easier tomorrow, so that the flesh on the skin of the cacao seeds is easy to remove.
Actually, to dry the cacao beans, you don't have to wash them first. But if we wash the seeds, they dry quickly and look cleaner, the price is also high. Currently, the price of cacao beans has reached fifty thousand rupiah per kilo. Isn't that a very hefty price? So my advice is that if you have a garden, it's better for you to plant this plant, because so far I see the cacao plant is very promising.
