We all heard it a million times, Failing to plan is planning to fail. In my experience, this often turns out to be true however there also another side to the coin, overplanning. At some point, one must stop writing to do lists and just take action. I have tried to start weight loss journeys before and fail because I didn't prepare a meal plan or created an effective workout regimen, but most often I have failed to even start. The doubt and a comfortability of our set routines often overcome any desire we might have to change our environment and our lifestyle.
What is called the comfort zone is a honey trap to our dreams and potential, if we ever want to get stuff done we need to get out of the comfort zone. -RayBilson
Throughout this journey, I will be experimenting with different routines and nutrition programs to reach my intentions. Harly if ever we ger thing right on the first chance, especially when it comes to the human body.
I have a list of goals a mile long, but knowing the people who try to make too much too soon often end not archiving anything, I have decided to focus of the following 3 goals to start this blog:
1- Get my weight down to 250 lbs
Why 250 lbs and not lower? roller coasters
As a habitual reader of weight loss blogs, I have read this story many times. One day you try to get on and you can't because you are too fat, and even though I knew the story before I got to that point, it happened to me too. 3 years ago I was dismounted on my last roller coaster because of the seatbelt didn't close. Now it is time to get back on!
2- Get my finances under control
This made me feel so grown up. Even though I have a great credit report (720) and not high debts. I want to work in my businesses. Starting this year a self-employed, it feels weird not to have a secure paycheck at the end of the week but this might be just that I'm not yet accustomed to the lifestyle. Anyway, I would like to take my businesses to the next level and might end up the year buying some real estate.
3-Become fluent in Italian
My native language is Spanish and I learned English when emigrated to the United States in 2008 in order to attend college and you know make a living. Since I learned to speak English the excitement to learn others languages have grown with me. Learning a language is such enriching experience that I highly recommend to everyone to try it. In order to meet my language curriculum on college I studied Italian because it has similar grammar to Spanish I thought it would be easy and It kind of was but I also fell in love with the sound that I now want to perfect.
If you have any ideas or experiences on how to best archive this kind of goals Please leave a comment. Why not share some of your goal for this year?
If you got here thank you for reading and if you are interested in the steps I'm taking toward self-improvement come back tomorrow for a blog in which I'll describe the plan I will be following to reach my goals.
