You will not confuse this beautiful multi-colored bird with anyone. I don't see them very often, and in most cases I only hear them and don't see them.
These birds are sedentary, and since autumn, when fledglings grow up, they wander from place to place in small flocks.
They have an interesting voice, it's unintelligible chirping, with whistles.
They feed on insects in the summer, and in the rest of the year they eat the seeds of plants and grasses. And they especially love thistle seeds. When this plant matures, flocks of these birds can be seen raiding the thistle fields. It is at these moments when the birds feast on them that you can get closer to them.
