馃 The azure tit (Cyanistes cyanus hyperrhiphaeus)

I very rarely come across this species of tit. They are quite rare in themselves and appear only sporadically. It can happen that in one year they are scarce in the forests I visit, or they might disappear for years at a time. The most important thing is knowing where to look for them!
You need to look for them near bodies of water; that鈥檚 where you鈥檙e more likely to encounter them. And indeed, that is exactly where I鈥檝e come across them in flooded steppe meadows and along streams.
As for the bird in the photo, I encountered it in the autumn, amidst a mixed flock of other tits and nuthatches.
