馃 The black kite (Milvus migrans)
馃摎 Milvus (lat) - kite
馃摎 migrans (lat.) - migrating
The most familiar and common predator that we are used to seeing. Unless of course this bird can be called a predator.
The fact is that the kite is lazy, and he would rather eat some carrion or rummage in a landfill than catch fresh prey. In addition, he does not have enough muscle mass to attack from the air as dexterously as other birds of prey do.
However, sometimes they can hunt. For example, on the river, I see how they are catching fish, smoothly descending and snatching fish from the surface of the water. Occasionally they manage to catch a rodent.
But more often I see how they drag some scraps from garbage cans, or look out for pigeons crushed by cars in the yards.
