Miles unmasked before Martin Li, letting go of his hate to join forces. After being knocked to the ground floor, Miles unlocked the Galvanize ability to fight off a symbiote horde. After returning to Li, they combined their powers to purge the symbiote core, freeing Peter from its hold.
Miles asked what would happen to Li, once the energy transfer begins. Li replied that they would have to find out, showing full readiness to risk his life to make things right.
Sensing this might be his last chance to speak to Li, Miles pulled off his mask and told him directly that while he could not forgive him for his past actions, he could no longer carry that heavy hatred around either. Wanting to finish the job together, Miles extended his hand, and Li silently accepted the partnership.
Li began channeling his remaining inner power to force open the symbiote heart, but the resulting surge of energy threw Miles backward, sending him crashing down to the ground floor.
A massive horde of symbiote swarmed the hall to attack. In that moment, a new ability surged through Miles, which is Galvanize, and it allowed him to deliver a heavy, electrified punch and launch the same target straight into the air for follow-up strikes.
While I kept fighting those symbiotes, Miles asked if Li gifted him this new power, but Li responded over their connection that he did not do it.
While I battled through waves of incoming symbiotes inside the building, Li stayed focused on purging the central core. And I noticed this Galvanize makes the enemy a powerhouse that attacks other enemies on its own, with lightning.
I noticed a lot more symbiotes were trying to break inside through the exterior windows, so I did my best clearing out the remaining ground-floor enemies before any more waves could join.
Li's voice grew noticeably weaker when he was taking a moment to thank Miles for trusting him after everything that had happened between them. And then he called for assistance once the ground floor was clear.
I sprinted back up to his position and Miles placed his hands on the central core alongside Li. Channeling their combined powers into the node, they triggered a massive light blast that completely purged the symbiote core.
The discharge drew all the dark energy out of Li, returning him to his normal human form. With the symbiote structure destroyed, they found Peter collapsed nearby, weeping beside the memory of Aunt May.
