Inns and Piers to Enjoy (Eng/Esp)

The western area of Tocuchare Beach offers several incredible views. I continued exploring to the end of the path—specifically, a bend that terminates at several houses blocking further passage along the shoreline. The most striking feature is that, after a stretch of beach cluttered with stones, the terrain shifts to a clear area with soft sand that felt wonderful underfoot. Facing this spot are several visually stunning residences featuring modern, avant-garde architecture.

It was along this route that I came across the guesthouse listed on Google Maps: a comfortable, modern, two-story home with large panoramic windows. A substantial stone wall surrounded the property, adding to its visual appeal by providing a sense of enclosure while allowing a glimpse of a small garden where fuchsia bougainvillea reigned supreme.

This inn features a long pier that ends in a churuata (a traditional open-sided thatched shelter); a group of people had gathered there, right out over the water. From that vantage point, they enjoyed a prime view of the entire beach and could also dive into the deeper water. Here, one can see the contrast between tourists eager to experience every moment intensely and the local community members, for whom enjoying the sea is simply part of daily life.

The tourism sector is a major source of revenue for Sucre state; consequently, Tocuchare offers various well-appointed accommodations. This particular inn caught my eye due to its location and architectural design. Watching the sunset and the seascape at night from the pier or the guest rooms must be an unforgettable experience—especially falling asleep to the sound of waves enveloping the senses.

La zona oeste de la playa Tocuchare posee varias vistas increíbles. Seguí avanzando para explorar hasta el final del camino, en este caso un recodo que finaliza en varias casas que impiden caminar por la orilla. Lo más impresionante es que luego de una orilla saturada de piedras se presenta una libre de ellas, con arena suave que disfruté con mis pies. Es frente a este espacio donde se encuentran varias residencias muy atractivas a la vista, con arquitecturas modernas y vanguardistas.

Justamente en este recorrido encontré la posada que aparece en Google Maps, una cómoda y moderna casona de dos plantas con grandes ventanales panorámicos. Alrededor se encontraba un gran muro de piedras que concedía un mayor atractivo visual ya que servía de resguardo y, a su vez, dejaba ver un pequeño jardín donde las Trinitarias fucsias eran las reinas del lugar.

Esta posada tiene un muelle que finalizaba en una churuata, este era bastante largo y allí habían varias personas reunidas en medio del mar. Una vista privilegiada de toda la playa tenían desde allí y además podían lanzarse al agua en un área más profunda. Acá se puede apreciar el contraste entre el turista que quiere vivir cada instante con intensidad y quienes pertenecen a la comunidad, para quienes disfrutar del mar es un asunto cotidiano.

El sector turismo en el estado Sucre representa una importante fuente de ingresos económicos, en tal sentido, acá en Tocuchare se pueden apreciar varios hospedajes con todas las comodidades y este en particular fue el que más llamó mi atención por su ubicación y el diseño de su construcción. Contemplar el atardecer y la noche marina desde el muelle o las habitaciones debe ser un momento inolvidable y sobre todo dormir con el sonido de las olas envolviendo los sentidos.
