Igbo are rich in culture and traditions which reflect in the Igbo people's values , history , customs and norms
Igbo society was held by men ,men are in the position of authority and power ,while women played important roles and duties in family and society.
The Igbo society was organized into clans and with each clan having it own leader or ruler. They celebrate funeral in an elaborate way to honour the deceased and their ancestors.
They also earn chiefary tires through community service, wealth and achievements.
Their marriage are been done in an elaborate way , it involve the payment of bride price , family negotiations and ceremonies. Most Igbo prefer their traditional wedding or marriage to white wedding or court wedding.
They are rich in good values ,they have hospitality,very very hard working, cooperative and collective responsibility and they are intelligent because they value education.
There are notable people from the Igbo tribe ,the likes of Nnamdi Azikiwe,the first president of Nigeria, Olaudah Equiano was a writer and Chinua Achebe was a renowee author.
Some of their festivals; The new yam festival(iri ji) ,it is the celebration of abudance and harvest among the Igbos.
Ofala festival ,this is the celebration of honouring the ancestors
and Arochukwu festival is the celebration of cultural heritage and traditions.
Igbo are also good in art and crafts like wooding carving , textiles and pottery. They make traditional ceramics cooking and storage potteries,colourful clothing and mythology figures
