Besides a large selection of pumpkins, squash, and gourds, our favorite pumpkin patch has animals and several fun activities for kids.
There is a child friendly, not so scary haunted house/straw bale maze in the old tobacco barn. The long narrow sheds were built for air drying harvested tobacco leaves. The labor intensive crops are not gown so much anymore, so this is a great use for this old building.
These miniature donkeys might have just been expecting a treat, but they lined up nicely for a photo.
There were several goats. It's a great opportunity for kids (and adults) who live in town to get close to animals.
There was a bowling game set up between some straw bales with plastic bowling pins and balls.
The kittens play happily in the barns and between the pumpkins! They are everyone's favorite. and you never know where you are going to find them.
