Digging today my folders for the nice @psos challenge to show how do I travel, staying at home. Today I share some pictures of Russia travels.

2007 - Ekaterinburg, Russia

Sunset at Ekaterinburg -- one of the top-10 biggest Russian megapolices, located somewhere inbetween Moscow and China. The last Russian Emperor was assasinated here by bolsheviks back in 1918. And it is the most eastern point of Russian territory that I've been to so far. I also visited Izhevsk and Kazan during that travel: it was my mission to visit some of my old friends from 2000-es.

2007 - Izhevsk, Russia

Izhevsk is a very intresting Russian city, definitely not a megapolis. It is known to be industrial centre of Russia in the past, a lot of plants and metallurgy were located here. In the tzar epoch, it was the second “arms capital” of the empire (the first was Tula, also known for the samovars).The famouse and not the proudest part of the soviet export - Kalashnikov AK74 machineguns - have been producing right here. In the 90-es it was called the capitol of Russian electronic and IDM music, but for a little period of time. Some of my freatest old friends were living here at the 2000-es; worth to mention, they infected me with the passion to photography. But everything have passed.

2010 - Rafting at Toksovo, Russia

In my opinion, rafting and photography are a bit mutually exclusive things, at least its correct for me. I was there with my friends for the rafting, not for the shooting ;) tho I had my camera and 50mm lens with me, and ofc made some clicks, for the memory. This is one of them. My friend (which stayed on the bank) took another memorable picture of me, totally drowned, creeping to the bank... (happily the camera stayed on the bank during the whole adventure).
