Greetings, Hiveans! Another week of my favourite contest — Alphabet Hunt — is back to life in Bangladesh community. This week we reached the letter 'F'. My chaotic random picks were: Fly / Film / Flute / Fence / Fishing / Facepalm; 6 words plus two leftovers! 😜
Blogs for previous letters: B / C / D / E . In case you are curious to see my other trofeis for this letter, check this post from 2020. Happy hunting!

Fly.

This is a artwork, a paper collage my baby created decade ago, using just skissors, glue and her imagination. It is not necessarily self-explanatory, but we do know it was a Fly. I was a pretty proud dad when I saw it, and consider it to be a masterpiece - judging by its author's age.

Film.

In Russian, we have this word 'plenka' corresponding with a broad field of meanings: it covers the film, tape, polyethylene and other similar stuff. I could take a picture of tape, and it would fit properly to the word I am hunting -- but not in English vocabulary. So I took a picture of a more proper thing: a roll of photo film.

Did you know that Kodak was the leader of industry ... and was unwilling to change — thus collapsed when all the industry went digital? I keep this roll as a memory of the time (and a photo-prop ))).

Fence.

A simple thing we encounter pretty often; perhaps I would not add it to my selection if it wasnt other thing within the frame, a horse. Agree, thats a strange logic... and a very ordinary, trivia fence.

Flute.

My 3-year-old babygirl for the first time in her life gets acquainted with the Flute.

Fishing.

Among a lot of fishermen pics I take from time to time I also have this one; looks pretty funny. I always smile widely when I stumble upon this photo. Fishing can look like that too!

Facepalm.

A funny word that dont occure in our lifes on a daily basis, and rarely can take a pic of, as it doesnt last too long. This is a portrait of my friend, a poet — taken when we attended a poetry evening.

I’m not 100% sure it was exactly a 'facepalm' — but most likely it is; otherwise, I wouldn’t have found it enough to photograph fun to capture such a mundane, sleepy moment.

And now, a few leftovers that I dont want to move to a separate post. Initially I considered to create images for the words Feeding / Fastfood / Fit / Freedome. I skipped the first two, but cant resist the temptation to show what I have for two others.

Fit.

"If it fits, me sits', — as djynn@djynn once put it in one of her posts. I keep it in my mind as a small gem, a treasure amazing and shiny; our ginger kitty professes the same feline religion.

From the very start of the game, I was hooked with idea to look for the words in my stamps album. (Thats not a secret, I started collecting stamps of the Old Europe period a year ago). And I did found some nice entries! 😎 Would be near impossible to find 6 words every time, but at least I can dilute my blog with philatelia stuff.

There exist such things as 'Fakes and forgeries' (quite a lot, haha!), 'Field post', 'First Day Cover' (FDC) and the most curious among them — 'Foxing'. (More than sure you are not in the know what it is, if we talk philatelia. Do you?) But I chose to show you something very different. Sufficient amount of stamps that were issued in interbellum years by the new states on the Europe map, that were shaped from the wreckage of four empires, illustrate the idea of Freedom. And thats exactly the word I wanted to present.

Many designers, in search of appropriate graphic imagery, ended up with similar concepts, suggesting such symbols as the rising sun of a new day or the severed chains of bondage. (borjan@borjan, what would be your opinion of this design?) The first postage stamps of the Kingdom of Serbs and Croats featured the figure of a serve who broke his chains; the first stamps of bourgeois Russia

that kicked Emperor Nicholas II off the throne, contain the sun and sword that cutting said chains.
I am truly excited with the stamp series of Fiume Republic, which depicts the idea of freedome as a pretty young lady with a star of her head. Sadly I cant take my own picture as I havent obtained such a stamp for my collection. (Fiume stamps are pretty expensive — even the fake ones).

Freedom!

Now thats all I wanted to share today, hope you had your fun with this little exhibition, -- I definitely had mine. See you next time! (and, maybe even you wanna join the fun!) 😉
