Today I want to share with you my experience visiting the village of Cheleiros located in Mafra and Portugal, a small village, but with many things to offer that you can visit, from the rural beauty of the village center, the history and natural landscapes.

El día de hoy quiero compartirles mi experiencia visitando el pueblo de Cheleiros localizado en Mafra y Portugal, un pueblo pequeño, pero con muchas cosas que ofrece que puedes visitar, desde la belleza rural del centro del pueblo, la historia y paisajes naturales.

ROMAN BRIDGE OF CHELEIRO AND THE VILLAGE.🏛️

The first thing that I am going to comment is of its popular Roman bridge that is one of the characteristic places that represent the town. We can even see references of this bridge in decorative designs in houses of the village. In addition, it gives an ancestral touch to the village of Cheleiros, there is not much information regarding this bridge, at the time it was studied, experts stated that it may be a bridge made by Romans by the structure and also that in Mafra there are many places that were discovered that were the Romans.
As I had commented, one of the things that characterizes the village is its ancestral rural architecture by its famous bridge and also its houses. You can also visit the church of Cheleiros in case you are interested. Another thing that caught my attention was the Manzwine wine cellar. I would have loved to go in and visit it, but unfortunately it was closed.

PUENTE ROMANO DE CHELEIRO Y EL PUEBLO.🏛️

Lo primero que voy a comentar es de su puente romano popular que es uno de los lugares característicos que representan al pueblo. Incluso podemos ver referencias de este puente en diseños decorativos en casas del pueblo. Además, que les da un toque ancestral al pueblo de Cheleiros, no hay mucha información referente a este puente, en el momento que fue estudiado, los expertos declararon que puede ser un puente hecho por romanos por la estructura y además que en Mafra hay muchos lugares que se descubrieron que estuvieron los romanos.
Como había comentado, una de las cosas que caracteriza el pueblo es su arquitectura rural ancestral por su famoso puente y también sus casas. También puedes visitar la iglesia de Cheleiros en caso de que estés interesado. Otra de las cosas que me llamó la atención fue la bodega de vino Manzwine. Me hubiera encantado de entrar y visitarlo, pero lastimosamente se encontraba cerrada.

Obviously, as the nature lover that I am, I followed the indicative signs of the village and decided to visit natural landscapes near the area. So I present to you an ancient volcanic chimney, from the volcanic complex of Lisbon, this is a beautiful natural monument that will allow you to enjoy unique views of nature and the surroundings of Cheleiros, plus when you are up there is a kind of chamber that will make you feel like you are in a castle of rocks. Another curious fact about this place that I managed to learn by searching the internet is that in this natural castle were recorded phases of occupation of various chronological periods, from the Neolithic (4000 BC) to Roman times. It is also one of the first records of ancient natural defenses in the Iberian Peninsula.

PENEDO DE LEXIM.⛰️

Obviamente, como la amante de la naturaleza que soy, seguí los letreros indicativos del pueblo y decidí visitar paisajes naturales cerca de la zona. Así que les presento una antigua chimenea volcánica, del complejo volcánico de Lisboa, esto es un monumento natural precioso que te permitirá disfrutar de unas vistas únicas de la naturaleza y los alrededores de Cheleiros, además que cuando estás arriba hay una especie de cámara que te hará sentir que estás en un castillo de rocas. Otro dato curioso de este lugar que logré aprender buscando en el internet y es que en este castillo natural se registraron fases de ocupación de diversos períodos cronológicos, desde el Neolítico (4000 a.C.) hasta la época romana. También es uno de los primeros registros de defensas naturales antiguos en la península Ibérica.

WATERFALL LAGE.💦

Another indicative of the village was a waterfall so that was our next stop, but before arriving we also came across some old mills that was the old technology to feed the people of Cheleiro, one of the curious things I learned traveling in the interior of Portugal is that many of the old people often have mills and even I managed to see some in operation.
By the time I visited this waterfall as we can see does not have much water force making it lose its appeal, but, however, I managed to take some pictures and enjoy the sound of nature, its location is a bit curious, as it is behind a home of a local so I was with many doubts if I managed to access or not. * I was in doubt if I could access or not.

CASCATA DE LAGE.💦

Otro de los indicativos del pueblo fue una cascada así que esa fue nuestra próxima parada, pero antes de llegar nos topamos también con unos antiguos molinos que era la antigua tecnología para alimentar al pueblo de Cheleiro, una de las cosas curiosa que aprendí viajando en el interior de Portugal es que muchos de los antiguos pueblo suelen tener molinos e incluso ya logre ver algunos en funcionamiento.
Por la época en que visite esta cascada como podemos ver no tiene mucha fuerza de agua haciendo que pierda su atractivo, pero, sin embargo, logre tomar algunas fotos y disfrutar del sonido de la naturaleza, su localización es un poco curiosa, ya que queda detrás de un hogar de un lugareño por lo cual estaba con muchas dudas si lograba acceder o no.

My opinion Im pleased to get to know this beautiful town, although it is a small place, it has its unique charms and this tour is a mixture of rural walk accompanied by nature, so I can not complain, waterfall, Roman bridge, an ancient volcanic chimney, the truth is that this area has a lot to offer.

Resumen. Estoy satisfecha en lograr conocer este lindo pueblo, a pesar de que es un lugar pequeño, tiene sus encantos únicos además que este paseo que brinda es una mezcla de paseo rural acompañado de la mano con la naturaleza, así que no me puedo quejar, cascada, puente romano, una antigua chimenea volcánica, la verdad que esta zona tiene mucho para ofrecer.
