Amigos de Hiver,nos encontramos en la Planta Cervecera de Villavieja, ubicada en el hermoso municipio de Villavieja, Huila, en pleno corazón del desierto de la Tatacoa. Este lugar forma parte del mismo paseo que hicimos anteriormente, y no podía dejar de compartirles esta joya escondida entre paisajes áridos y mágicos.
La planta es un rincón encantador, lleno de murales vibrantes, ideales para grandes fotos y recuerdos inolvidables. Pero más allá de lo visual, es un sitio lleno de inspiración. Espacios como este motivan a los turistas a descubrir los tesoros de nuestros pueblos, y a que más personas decidan apostar por el turismo local, fortaleciendo así los emprendimientos y el crecimiento de estas comunidades.
La Planta Cervecera de Villavieja fue creada con el propósito de rescatar la identidad del desierto de la Tatacoa y fomentar el turismo sostenible en la región. Su visión se ha expandido tanto que hoy también cuentan con una sede en Medellín, lo que demuestra que los sueños nacidos en tierra caliente también pueden florecer en otros rincones del país.
Aquí se pueden degustar varias cervezas artesanales, pero la estrella sin duda es la Cerveza Tatacoa, inspirada en los colores, texturas y sabores del desierto. Esta cerveza es un homenaje a la tierra, al calor, y al espíritu resiliente de quienes habitan esta zona.
Entre las variedades disponibles están la cerveza de cactus, mango biche, jengibre, y otras ediciones especiales que van rotando según la temporada y los ingredientes locales. Yo probé dos tipos —aunque no suelo tomar mucho— y debo decir que, por la ocasión, no me arrepiento de haberme dejado tentar. ¡Estaban deliciosas!
Este lugar es perfecto para los amantes de la cerveza artesanal, pero también para quienes disfrutan de una buena conversación, arte urbano, cultura y sabor. Sus murales son espectaculares y la estructura del sitio tiene ese aire de “parche sabroso” como dicen por acá. Si estás por esta zona, no dudes en visitarlo.
Los precios son accesibles, las cervezas son artesanales y además ofrecen comida deliciosa, aunque en este paseo, por andar apurados, no tuvimos la suerte de probarla. ¡Pero queda pendiente para la próxima!
La planta cervecera de Villavieja es emblemática porque representa cómo el arte, el emprendimiento y la identidad regional pueden unirse para crear experiencias únicas y memorables.
Finalmente, quiero cerrar con esto: todo en la vida es un aprendizaje constante. Cada lugar, cada sabor, cada conversación suma en nuestro camino. Estamos aquí para vivir, conocer y seguir llenando el alma de experiencias enriquecedoras.
Recuerda que desde Medellín son aproximadamente 8 horas en carretera, y al llegar a Villavieja, solo debes recorrer unas pocas calles para encontrar este lugar lleno de tradición, sabor y mucha buena energía.

Friends of Hiver, we are at the Villavieja Brewery, located in the beautiful municipality of Villavieja, Huila, in the heart of the Tatacoa Desert. This place is part of the same tour we did before, and I could not fail to share with you this hidden gem among arid and magical landscapes.
The plant is a charming corner, full of vibrant murals, ideal for great photos and unforgettable memories. But beyond the visuals, it is a place full of inspiration. Spaces like this motivate tourists to discover the treasures of our towns, and more people decide to bet on local tourism, thus strengthening the entrepreneurship and growth of these communities.
The Villavieja Brewery was created with the purpose of rescuing the identity of the Tatacoa Desert and promoting sustainable tourism in the region. Their vision has expanded so much that today they also have a branch in Medellín, demonstrating that dreams born in the hot land can also flourish in other corners of the country.
Here you can taste several craft beers, but the star is undoubtedly the Cerveza Tatacoa, inspired by the colors, textures and flavors of the desert. This beer is a tribute to the land, the heat, and the resilient spirit of those who inhabit this area.
Among the varieties available are cactus beer, mango biche, ginger, and other special editions that rotate according to the season and local ingredients. I tried two types -although I don't usually drink much- and I must say that, for the occasion, I don't regret having let myself be tempted. They were delicious!
This place is perfect for craft beer lovers, but also for those who enjoy good conversation, urban art, culture and flavor. Their murals are spectacular and the structure of the place has that “tasty patch” feel to it, as they say around here. If you are in the area, don't hesitate to visit it.
The prices are affordable, the beers are craft beers and they also offer delicious food, although on this tour, because we were in a hurry, we were not lucky enough to try it, but we'll keep an eye out for it next time!
The Villavieja brewery is emblematic because it represents how art, entrepreneurship and regional identity can come together to create unique and memorable experiences.

Remember that from Medellín it is approximately 8 hours by road, and when you get to Villavieja, you only have to drive a few streets to find this place full of tradition, flavor and lots of good energy.
