This world 🌎 is complicated, not only the world itself but even the people dwelling in it aren’t less complicated than they look, I grew up in company of wealthy families, friends and acquaintances, these people are not just ordinary families like mine, they have a complete family and also are doing well financially, the fact is that they well of and are also acquainted with other rich families…

The only similarities we have in common is that we both are a family but in the financial aspect of it, we are very lesser than them, i come from a family that is neither poor nor rich, we are just okay because we survive daily and that to as one big happy family but the people I grew up in their company, they are what we call extremely wealthy and in one way or the other we got acquainted and that was the beginning of my inferiority complex

If this world is not complicated, why is that the most hardworking people in my country are the poorest and why is it that the ones who are not as hardworking as them are richer than them in all form…

I will not be explaining much about this in my post but if you need a proof before you agree with my claim, then you can ask me for one in my comment section below 👇, all this is just to tell you that inferiority complex is very common amongst we the common men…

Moving further on INFERIORITY COMPLEX, my family is a definition of middle class, at one point in life, things were hard and my parents had to work for a wealthy family who later became our acquaintance, as kids my mum would always takes us to their wealthy mansion to help her out with the cleaning and washing of clothes and the compound…

The family she worked for had three boys, these kids had everything they could ever ask for and more, they had different things in their possession and even get more before the need to ask for it, my mum had to take us to their house so that she could always keep an eye on us while she works well and that was how we slowly became friends with their sons…

We grew together from kids into teens, imagine the urge of wanting to go to their place everyday because of the things they possess in their house and that is because we didn’t have what they had in our possession…

Even as kids, my brother and I battled with inferiority complex but it was more like a primary level of inferiority complex, everything became advanced when grew up together, this was how my first feeling of inferiority complex started…

Join me as I take you throw my journey of inferiority complex and how I was able to overcome it in the long run 🏃‍♀️…

IT WASN’T EASY BUT I OVERCAME IT

I think the answer to the first question has been spelt out loudly in my introduction to the topic, but for the sake of those who wants it to be spelt out again, I will be starting all over again…

As a middle class boy from a middle class family which I am very proud of by the way, without a doubt, I have felt inferior to my peers not just once but countless times in the past and even till now, I still feel it but the fact that I am now an adult makes me get over it easily, it doesn’t last 24 hours before I overcome it and double my hustles…

As stated above, it wasn’t easy feeling less than others, if the kids I mentioned above had been cruel and inhumane like some spoilt brat from some reach families, I guess the feeling of being less compared to them would have made me depressed for a long time and probably even influence my socializing skills…

These kids were brought up in a good way, they were taught by both my mum and their parents good values and morals, their mum was always the busy type so it was mostly my brother, I, their three sons and my mum at home most of the time, my mum literally brought up all five of us together which made them more friendly and comfortable around us even with us not dressing as big as they do…

They shared everything with us which reduced our feeling of being inferior to them, the feeling wasn’t completely gone which means we had to go through that process too but it was on a more minimal level…

We played together as kids until we all turned into teens with little age gap, we never stopped going to their place even as teens and this was when the feeling of being less than them started getting stronger, as teens they had a very big phone, a laptop, a bicycle(three big multicolored bicycles), games and other stuffs

My elder sister barely had a small phone not to talk more of an android phone that browses lol, it got to a point where everything started changing slowly, whenever they are handling their laptops, my brother and I would just be looking like a lost soul, we didn’t know how to operate anything in their house even down to their smart TV…

One day I made a mistake of touching one persons laptop, all my thoughts were based on the fact that friends share everything with each other, I realized it was not everything that day…

20221024_142949_0000.png

I messed with their second sons laptop and he came and pushed me, told me to ask my parents for one if I wanted one out of anger, my brother and his brother stopped us from arguing that day and I left their house angrily…

Shortly after my brother came back home and said the laptop had been fixed by the first son and we should go back there to play, I didn’t answer him and that was when the feeling of being lesser than them stopped me from enjoying myself…

On various occasions they have acted like a bully, sometimes when we have a small disagreement, they will send us out of their house telling us to not come again but the next day, they will all come to our house to ask us to play together again, it was more like fighting and reconciling…

20221024_142949_0000.png

I went to their house after that day but the thought of spoiling other things in their house and not being able to afford it is what scares me the most, I was always going there but never enjoyed myself anymore because I was always gripped with the constant fright of damaging an expensive property of theirs

I grew up feeling that way and the more I grew up was the more I feared going to their house again, shortly after, my brother and I stopped going to their house again as we were no longer free in their house again comparing to when we were kids, they had two phones even when we had none, they had three different laptops when we have non, they were always wasting and spoiling things that we common men couldn’t even afford…

Their spoken english was more better then ours, they were always correcting my english even if they thought it wasn’t anything special, to me it was a big deal because I felt intimidated at some point, I started wanting more from my parents, mostly unhappy…

20221024_142949_0000.png

I was done feeling that way and that was how I slowly started adapting to the fact that I am lesser than them but that doesn’t mean I can’t achieve what they have, I just knew I had more work to do to achieve that which they have in their possession…

The thought of fighting my inferiority complex made me work my butts off, when my friends are moving at 80km per hour, I was moving at 160km per hour and that was because I knew to get rid of my inferiority complex , more work is required…

In no time I overcame it as I was now able to do things I could not do before, I had things I didn’t have in the past, the feeling was just a pinch but it was not something that was affecting me any longer as I had learnt how to handle it…

IMG_20230520_081604_1622.jpeg

In summary, my inferiority complex kept on the edge for very long time, at some point I thought of cutting ties with my friends from rich families, I thought of mingling with people from similar backgrounds as mine but I was counseled by one of my friends dad and my mentality changed, i learnt something new from his words of wisdom…

I realized I was still better than some people financially too and I thought of how they feel too when they see they aren’t of the same level as me, at least I had a browsing phone, a tablet and a laptop later on, what of my set of friends who had non of these, it was at this moment I truly understood the fact that the person that has a head might not own a cap while the one that owns a cap might not have a head, this reduced my inferiority complex and that became my motivation to never stop working hard to achieve what I want in life…

In conclusion, they have all these, I can also have all these too if I work very hard was my motivation to never stop trying, right now I am someone with a apple gadget, an android phone and a laptop, the me 15 years ago doesn’t have all these but after I overcame my inferiority complex, I started using it as a means to break boundaries, and today I am proud of who I am and what I have accomplished in the last couple of decades…
