A couple of weeks ago, the book fair took place, an event that faithfully accompanies us every year in the nation's capital. It always has a different location, and this year it was held at the National Art Gallery, located in Caracas, Venezuela. As on previous occasions, I always stop by to see and enjoy the synergy generated by this magnificent event that promotes reading and the sharing of knowledge.
Hace un par de semanas se llev贸 a cabo la feria del libro, un evento que cada a帽o nos acompa帽a fielmente en la capital del pa铆s, siempre tiene una sede diferente y este a帽o se realiz贸 en la Galer铆a de Arte Nacional, ubicada en la ciudad de Caracas, Venezuela; como en anteriores ocasiones, siempre me acerco de visita para ver y disfrutar de esa sinergia que se genera en ese grandioso evento que impulsa la lectura y el compartir de conocimientos.
I was delighted that as soon as I arrived, I came across a live painting exhibition by some of the capital's great muralists. They were at the entrance of the gallery demonstrating their skills and wowing everyone who passed by to visit the book fair.
Me encanto que apenas llegue, me encontr茅 con una exhibici贸n de pintura en vivo de la mano de grandes muralistas de la capital, estaban en la entrada de la galer铆a demostrando sus habilidades y maravillando a todo el que pasaba por el lugar a visitar la feria del libro.
This year, the fair's theme was an allegory of Egypt and its traditions, to strengthen the ties of cooperation and diplomacy between the two nations. The entire interior of the fair was adorned with references to the pharaohs and Egyptian culture.
Este a帽o la tem谩tica de la feria fue en alegor铆a a Egipto y sus tradiciones, para fortalecer los lazos de cooperaci贸n y diplomacia entre ambas naciones; todo el interior de la feria estaba adornado de referencias a los faraones y la cultura egipcia.
There was a large Egyptian art exhibition dominated by ceramics. Beautiful ceramic pieces made with very interesting techniques could be seen throughout the venue. It was very interesting to see these pieces, since I recently saw an art exhibition of Venezuelan ceramics, and when comparing the pieces with these Egyptian ones, I could see the difference in techniques. Each culture masters this art with its own ancestral techniques.
Hab铆a una gran exposici贸n de arte egipcio en donde predominaba la cer谩mica, hermosas piezas hechas en cer谩mica con t茅cnicas muy interesantes se pod铆an apreciar por todo el lugar; fue muy interesante poder ver esas piezas, ya que hace poco vi una exposici贸n de arte en cer谩mica venezolana y al comparar las piezas con estas egipcias pude notar la diferencia entre las t茅cnicas, cada cultura domina ese arte con sus propias t茅cnicas ancestrales.
There were also plenty of shelves of books and numerous new releases, but since I didn't have the money to buy any, I didn't spend much time at the book stands. I focused more on appreciating the event's dynamics. I really loved visiting this book fair. Next time, I'll definitely buy some copies by national authors to learn more about Venezuelan literature. Tambi茅n hab铆an muchos estantes con libros y numerosos estrenos de libros, pero como no ten铆a dinero para comprar ninguno, no me detuve tanto tiempo en los puestos donde ten铆an los libros, me enfoque m谩s en apreciar toda la din谩mica del evento, pero realmente me encanto poder visitar esta feria del libro; para la pr贸xima si me comprare algunos ejemplares de autores nacionales para ir aprendiendo m谩s de la literatura venezolana. Espero que este post sea de su agrado, buenas vibras.
