Hardcore Townsmen! #2 Dealing with Bandits

English

Hello Hive Gamers! Today I bring you the second part of my hardcore Townsmen run. This time, rather than just surviving like crazy, I stopped for a second to calmly analyze the situation. Since the bandits have been launching attacks and looting waves constantly without giving me a single damn break, I had to come up with a plan. I organized a somewhat large city guard; they are poorly equipped, yes, but through sheer numbers, they will be able to stand up to the barbarians and protect the city.

With this mediocre but effective defense, my next goal was to negotiate with the merchant to sell him wool and buy weapons for the guard. But I realized that this guy is a thief with a license. For every unit of wool, he gave me a measly 2 Thalers, while he sold me each unit of swords for 50 Thalers. Financial suicide. So I devised a change of plans: I decided it was better to buy the necessary construction tools, which I still cannot produce in my village.

I sold him a mountain of wool and bought plenty of tools. My focus very soon will be to use the remaining money and tools to build more looms and tailor shops. If I can process that wool and produce clothes for the townnies, I will be able to sell manufactured goods much more expensively than wool as a raw material. We need to evolve from simple shepherds into a real textile industry if we want to beat the market of this scammer merchant.

For now, the economy will move by gross volume. I will focus on making money by selling the merchant everything my settlement can scratch from the frozen ground: stone and iron ore from the quarries, along with wool and tanned leather. Everything I produce in my settlement will go to the market to finance the development of the textile industry. It is a slow and painful process, but it is the only way to generate capital while my poorly armed guard holds back the bandits.
