Hello everyone. Last weekend I headed out to an old historical spot known as "el puente de los españoles" (The Spaniards' Bridge). Even though the name makes it sound like an ancient street corner you would find right downtown, it is actually an old structure built over a deep river high up in the mountains.
While the destination is impressive, I honestly think the best photos and the best moments came from the trail itself. Getting there requires a solid two-hour hike deep into the mountains, and that is only if you keep up a really fast pace. Since everyone in our group is in great physical condition, we managed to hit that mark without much trouble.
One thing that caught my attention along the way was the shift in energy. At the start, everyone is joking around and talking loudly. But as you keep pushing forward, the chatter slowly dies down. Eventually, you reach a point where everyone is walking in total silence, completely absorbed in their own thoughts. It makes sense, though—nobody is going to keep cracking jokes when you are navigating through dense mountain vegetation. Here are some of the best shots I took along the way. I will save the photos of the actual bridge and the river for a future post.
Without anything more to add, I bid farewell. Stay tuned for future posts! Until next time!
