PUMPKIN SEEDS : Small but fully packed with valuable nutrients!
Before starting on the theme of my post...
Let's make this clear :
The pepitas that we usually found in stores are completely different to the pumpkin seeds that I will explain below!
Pepitas are pumpkin seeds from very specific types of pumpkins the 'Styrian pumpkins', which have very thin skins and they don't need to be shelled.
So here we are with my pumpkin and its seeds!
Today I have some special orders to prepare at home for some guests and pumpkin is on the menu...
Been long that I didn't use pumpkin -well...that much!
While looking at this beauty...I remembered when i was a kid...I enjoyed snacking on the seeds...even raw just like that!
But today...I just wanted to start a new experiment...
So I decided to take out all the good seeds...oh yesss my fingers and nails were all slimy and orange - but that's ok with me.
Usually, most of the people who prepares their own pumpkin seeds...will go for the roasting method in the oven with some steps like...
Boiling them first in salted water.
Then dry them with a towel...next is to oil them thoroughly...and add salt and any spices you like like cayenne, paprika or cumin...and hop in the oven!
I took out all the seeds from my pumpkin!
I simply put them on a paper tower and put to dry in the sun - au naturel ! 😉
💚💚💚
It completed like 2 hours sunlight today and will continue the process tomorrow until well dry! (Will keep you informed of the process!)
