Here at my place winter is at its peak. And we believe winter is the season to eat all the sweets. 😄 Many kind of sweets are prepared with various ingredients depending upon taste of different individuals. But ome thing is common and that is the sweet part, generally using ingredients that are full of nutrients to keep your body warm in this cold weather. Ayurveda classify various eatables in two kinds, one with cold nature and other one with hot nature. So in the winter the ingredients with hot nature are used for making various dishes. And these include dry fruits too.
So I am going to make these sweet balls using Milk, Dry fruits, Gram flour and sugar. Let me give you the exact details of the ingredients
Ingredients
3 litre Full cream milk
250 gm Cashew nuts
250 gm Almonds
250 gm Gram flour
300gm Powdered Sugar
Let us start making it
The first part is similar in most of the dishes prepared with milk, that is just to pour the milk to a heavy bottomed pan or wok. Switch on the flame of gas and let it start boiling. You may do anything else side by side.
Keep it stirring at intervals. Keep the flame at low as it starts boiling. This is a lengthy process. So the best way to do it is just put it on the flame and finish your other chores. Just keep stirring it at intervals or it Will to the bottom.
After the milk start gaining thick consistency, add Gram flour to it. Mix it well. Now you have to keep standing at its side and keep it stirring continuously.
As the mixture leaves the sides of Wok, and the color is changed to brownish shade with nice aroma of Gramflour, that indicates the mixture is well cooked.
Put Cashew nuts in the grinder jar and grind them to make a fine powder. You may add them after chopping too, but I am going to make a powder as my daughter don't like their pieces. Follow the same thing for Almonds too.
Add dry nut powder to the pan. Mix it well. Switch off the flame after two minutes. Let the mixture cool down.
After ten minutes, as the mixture is not that hot now, add the powdered sugar and mix it well.
Take small portions in your hand and make round shape of it pressing it with your palms. You may make the size of your choice either big or small.
